Saturday Folkstoned

Testing out AI removal software. So thought it would be fun to take John Lennon's vocal out of the new single, which was in turn taken off a cassette with AI. Went with Harpsichord, strings, Hammond B3, Melotron, trombone, trumpet, oboe, piccolo, Harp and Moog Modular. Mainly Arturia V series with some Spitfire orchestra synths. Done in Reason v12.

Now And Then Reimagined

A remix of Matoma's Sound of the Shadows fro SKIO, featuring JP Cooper on vocals. Took the vocal stems and wrote a new track around it. Used Rhodes V8,  Moog Sub37, Juno X, Arturia V synths, Izotope Ozone and Neutron.

Sound of the Shadows - reinterpretation

I took two layers of vocals and the kick (nice kick) and rewrote the music. It's pretty epic, there's a bit of Kraftwerk in there plus some French House, Jarre. There is a lot of bass and compressors, might sound a bit hot but there;'s distortion/ granular FX on many sounds, works well played loud or driving. The original track is more rhythm driven, I am tune based, I probably went a bit layer crazy. I used Arturia V Series, Serum, the new Moog Mariana soft synth,Hardware-  Juno X, Jupiter 8 X, Moog Sub37 and Cobalt 8M. For mixing / Mastering Isotope Neutron 4, Ozone 11. Track remixed for SKIO.

STAY HIGH (DIPLO & HUGEL featuring Julia Church) Infinimonkey remix

Wow, what a great track. Loved playing with this, epic chord progression. I only kept the vocals, reinterpreted everything else. Mainly use Arturia Synths and Vocoder, isotope Neutron and Ozone. Outboard-wise there is a Juno X and and Oberheim OB8. Great vocal line so felt the track didn't all need much, some nice ARPs, chugging guitar, high Arp Solina, pop drums. Did a break out with Hammond B3 and Melotron flute. threw in a choir. Why not?

Synchronize (Milky Chance Infinimonkey Reinterpretation)

Great track by Super-Hi and Neeka, took the vocal and rewrote the track completely. This vocal has hooks all over the place, very catchy. Recorded with Moog Sub 37, Oberheim OBX8, Juno-X, multiple Arturia synths and vocoder, Cherry CR-78, Rhodes V8, Moogafoogers, Native Labs guitars, Prism Drums. Mastered with Izotope Neutron and Ozone.

Following the Sun (SUPER-Hi x NEEKA) reinterpretation

Reinterpreted William Black's single, 'Lie'. Vocoder-a-go-go. Running through new root notes for the track, ended up borrowing the chromatic Pachelbel Canon in D.

LIE (William Black) Reinterpretation

Think this is a first, used more than just the vocal stems and kept to the original musical phrasing. The main music is in 3 duelling heavy ARPs that run riot throughout all on distorted/ fuzzed up Arturia Mini Moogs. When mixed with the killer baseline stem, the track has heavy Jean Michel Jarre meets Justice vibes. Some Arturia Vocoder used sparingly. There's a lots of stereo fun built in, so headphone use is recommended. Drums: Cherry CR-78, Moog Mariana and a few future disco stems. Mixed with Isotope Neutron, Mastered with Ozone.

What's the Point? Kelland x NXSTY x JVHSON (Infinimonkey Remix)

Just took the vocal line. Followed the vocal fitted both minor and major.. It's Paris, 1979 again, lots of ARPs, vocoder shadowing the vocal. Oberheim DMX drum, Moog Sub37, Juno X, Arturia X, Cherry CR-78, iZotope Neutron and Ozone.

I absolutely love synthesisers and reinterpreting other people's music, as well as writing my own stuff. I literally get lost in music, it's my drug of choice. probably always going to have dollops of that 80s vibe. Working on an album of vocoded covers.
