We really missed you last weekend but just know we were in SF making some power moves. In order to make up for our absence we returned this time along with the pioneer/legendary House Shoes. This man's musical selections, experiences/knowledge, and blunt personality is one that you can't deny. We respect House Shoes! It was nice to finally have him come by and drop two different sets (that's right two!). He kicked it off with exclusives from his new label Street Corner Music  and then ended with some nice soulful joints. Joe Kay's discussion with Shoes also touched on many great subjects that many of you wanted to know. Enjoy.

Rising Dutch producer Afroham releases his first single of the year on Melting Pot Music. The 26-year-old musician from Rotterdam is fusing neo-soul, lofi and hip-hop in his very own style and fashion. ‘About You’ features Dutch singer Ginge, who Afroham originally met on Tinder – a fun coincidence considering his forthcoming project addresses love and rejection in the digital age. Instead of becoming a couple they ended up writing songs together. The prominent bass line comes from Finnish producer Cocabona, a household name on the international beat & lofi scene. 

Born Nathan Avraham, Afroham's artist name is a playful take on his surname and his hairdo. His superpowers also include creating visual art via video and 3d animation (de-spite being colourblind). Afroham has directed and animated a full-length movie that will accompany the release of his project and its singles. The artwork comes from Parisian artist MC Blue Matter.

Afroham has released a sling of successful singles on labels like Steezyasfuck and Chillhop (where he also works during daytime). His current playlist has music from artists like H.E.R., SiR, J. Dilla, Men I Trust & Mndsgn.

The only 20 minutes we have of the fantastic live set of Sven Atterton at Hot Pony. Due to a power cut later on in the night the recording device corrupted the remaining wav file so that part of the night will just have to be remembered by those that were there.. what a great night it was! Sven was borrowing an old bass with old strings so he'd like it known that his bass playing is usually a lot better! It was also totally pitch black behind the decks! Enjoy! x
