French bass experimentalist Kevin Houston, or Heblank, after a handful of appearances throughout the IM catalogue as a remixer or one-off compilation member, finally joins Infinite Machine’s ranks with a single release of his own.
„Beheaded” is a curious beast. An ever-growing, incessant full-frequency barrage of pulsing bass and offbeat hihats, it doesn’t even as much as invite melody into its midst until the 5 minute mark, and even then covertly - meandering pads creating atmosphere and pitched rimshots flurries providing additional complexity. Numerous textural incidentals line the full near-9 minutes of the track, and a submerged vocal bellow punctuates key moments, setting the oppressive tone of the track. This is the sound of seasickness.
XS’ remix wrangles the original firmly into warehouse techno territory, employing a lo-fi approach to off-kilter sound design that only serves to bolster the murkiness. PEEV’s remix smacks of Perc Trax strategies, ramping up the vertigo and claustrophobia via mechanistic repetition and structure and an unbridled urgency in the percussion. Fellow Frenchman my.head’s remix is the well-deserved respite and release after three tracks of eardrum flexing – dark yet dreamy, it glides its wistful bassline alongside a repeated snippet of the original’s vox, intermittently erupting into woodblock-ridden garage segments that fully render what is seemingly a faded memory of euphoria.

Sin Afuera (“Without Outside”) is the new collaborative EP from Chilean producer Imaabs, label manager of NAAFI and cofounder of Máquina Simple, and Other Islands, a vocalist and producer from London’s underground club scene. Both based in Mexico City, the two artists share a close creative partnership shaped by a mutual interest in exploring the limits of global electronic music.

The EP’s title refers to the myth of closed systems—those that define themselves by casting an outside as dissident, migrant, or simply noise, and enforcing its exclusion. Through hybridity, dissonance, and distortion, the record traces the contours of this outside, imagining other ways of being in the world.

Released via NAAFI, the four tracks draw on and destabilize the rhythmic logics of dembow, baile funk, grime, dancehall, reggaeton, and jungle. Frenetic percussion and glistening synths meet expansive sound design: ASMR flickers, field recordings, and fragments of unintelligible speech bleed through swung grooves and shimmering textures. The result is a sound that is luminous and tense, shot through with longing and evoking a space that feels at once intimate and yet out of reach.

✲ Japanese DJ and producer WRACK returns to NAAFI with a new EP that channels his signature fusion of Japanese taiko-inspired percussion, dancehall grooves, and Caribbean bass intensity. The release builds on the momentum of his previous singles and EPs, marrying the raw energy of taiko-drums with deep low-end and hybrid club sensibilities.

✲ As with his NAAFI output, this EP delivers tracks designed to resonate in club environments—driven by punchy rhythms, rumbling basslines, and textures that reflect WRACK’s global club perspective. WRACK is a prominent figure in Tokyo’s electronic scene, known as a resident DJ at HKCR and for his mixes with Boiler Room, Mixmag Asia, NTS, Rinse, i‑ D, and more. His DJ career, which began around 2009 inspired by hip‑ hop, evolved through open‑ format influences from artists like Diplo and A‑Trak.
