Parisian label [re]sources returns with the third edition of its "Club Hexagon" series dedicated to showcase the current French club / bass scene. Gathering several in-house artists such as Dehousy and Blâme, the compilation features some established French producers like Flore, rRoxymore and Ténèbre but also some newcomers, confirming [re]sources' key role in the development of the club music landscape in France.

Parisian imprint [re]sources celebrates its 9 years existence with a new VARIOUS EP produced by the collective members Blâme, Lia Catreux and LeTo, alongside 3 other exciting French producers RAVL, Nasty J and Qant. The 6 club bangers take inspiration from different Club & Bass genres like UK Garage, Breaks, Jungle and Footwork.

PREMIERE: Blâme - Space Code [[re]sources]

We here at Infinite Machine have made a habit out of celebrating the anniversary of our inception as a label with crew love compilations. Conscientious fans will remember our previous two compilations as retrospectives into the highlights of their respective years, gathering all top players from our roster and all frequent contributors for an aural birthday bash. For year 3 we’re switching it up – while still firmly a fam outing, our newest compilation is all about welcoming copious new talent into our midst, and hinting at what’s on the horizon for us. Given that most of said new talent is UK-based, this one also serves as a next-gen-biased exemplar in UK club, at least as far as we’re concerned.

Arma starts things off with “Soundboy”, a jolly, junglist love letter to UK hardcore, suffused in rave candy and dub signatures throughout. It’s a statement of intent for the compilation - via its euphoric rave piano opening, it functions as an apex of celebration. Wallwork & RZR team up with Ltd Colours in expanding on this with their deconstructive breaks approach on “B2”, producing this collection’s definitive all-ages banger. Next up, things get murky with Cloaka’s “Junta” – an ominous club concoction, distilled from the dark side of syncopated techno, bare-bones electro and dub-tinged industrial. Truska picks up from where Cloaka left off with his uncompromisingly futuristic “Flux”, trekking through heretofore uncharted realms of rhythmic deliverance and low-end fetishism. 

M-Waves & Ardstepz’ contributions, “Like That” & “Rinse Out”, respectively, keep it decisively future with their acid-heavy update of yesteryear’s “nu skool breaks”. The interplay of skittering UKG riddim, bubbling 303 antics and unhinged breaks ricochet will make you want to rinse these ones out indeed. Moving forward, the Berlin-meets-Bristol, hard-as-nails techno of Liar’s “Warlock” serves as an abrupt palate cleanser, and as a reiteration of our core values – industrial ferocity pounding astride sultry diva pop; an act of unholy conception spawning a weaponized club finale; all from IM’s resident digital occultist. Vlsonn keeps up the pace with the even-more-industrial, mechanized warehouse techno workout of “Iberia”, whose sluggish half-time 4/4 remains nonetheless energetic, courtesy of the biggest kick sound conceivable, outside of gabber at least.  

Blâme’s follow-up, “Renegade”, a perfect companion piece to “Like That” & “Rinse Out”, is a return to their UKG-meets-breaks formula, albeit with a more tempered, clean-cut and dubbed-out vibe, and a generous helping of tribal inflections throughout. The very same can be said about Abe’s subsequent “Mickey’s House”; however, Abe’s track sets itself apart with its absolute belter of a bassline, seemingly channeling the entire soul of jungle in its downward whine. Next up – we couldn’t honestly call this comp an “exemplar in UK club” without representing grime, and Toka’s manic war dub “Can’t Tell Me” does just that: nods to “Pulse X”, eski clicks, gliding square bass, clap-happy riddim, MC shouts, militant strings, the works. A crash-course in grime linguistics, and an expertly executed one at that. Otik keeps bowing dem militant strings for his grimy UKG murk anthem “Rough Patch” – a chilling, dramatic, CEV bassbin ripper.

On the fringe between Paris club and UK club, Kouslin’s “LDN Underground” ultimately tips toward the latter, at least in name. An incessantly repeated, guttural vocal cut sits aside a syncope techno beat, while a sublow reese and acidic squelches alternate on the low-end. Butti’s “Tension”, a welcome, surprising union of UK club’s functionalist and atmospheric extremes, respectively, nonetheless turns out to be a formidable drum tool. Passing the flag to Carlton, his “Input” is an EBM-reminiscent jaunt through code poetry & DSP magick. Lastly, Clough’s “Yum” is power electronics revivalism - a cultured nod to the logical extremes of electronic music, made sonic flesh anew. A fitting finale to our little musical time capsule.
Happy birthday to us, for we’re a jolly good fellow… the lot. Play this, rinse this, dance to this… celebrate with us. Infinite love! ((∞))

Hot on the heels of nosync’s ‘Soundsystem Music’, Plasma Sources is proud to present @betonbrutt ‘Project Researcher’, a 4-track offering of no nonsense, dancefloor-ready electronics which take influence from experimental club music, grime and musique concrète.

Having previously released standout EPs on CYTE Records, Beton Brut has built a reputation for delivering distinctively sparse and heavy-hitting productions which have garnered support from the likes of Mumdance, LCY and Walton. On ‘Project Researcher’, Beton Brut takes his sound and develops it even further.

In the producer’s own words, the EP is “about materials - raw, straight and to the point”. This approach is evident from the opening track ‘Tom Machine’, as ASMR-inducing squelches are bottled inside an environment which bubbles with molecular detail, and pitted against clinically arranged percussion sequences.

Up next, ’Lighter’ pulses with Beton Brut’s signature blend of grime-influenced bass-weight and snatches of pirate-radio MC chatter. ‘EMCA’ doubles down on this approach, with a more identifiable rhythm sure to keep heads bouncing at peak time.

‘LSTS’ rounds things off with an approach to bass programming which feels like listening to a biological entity undergoing a process of evolution and regression. The palette feels viscous and shifting here, with abstracted percussion and gunshots populating this sparse environment.

As an EP, ‘Project Researcher’ feels like the auditory equivalent of observing a chemical process inside a petri-dish. Beton Brut sets himself up as a scientist on this release, meticulously collecting individual samples from the deep corners of YouTube, introducing these into abstracted environments and observing the reaction.

Ever since our first release back in 2023, we’ve always tried to push out electronic music which does one simple thing - takes our love of sci-fi aesthetics and melts it into sonic form, irrespective of genre, sound, mood or anything else. Now with this aesthetic cemented in our first 5 releases, we feel it is time to drop our first compilation.

We’re proud to present Multi-Source, a 14-track assemblage covering the whole helix of experimental electronic music. The result is a very wild ride through an array of styles and BPMs, and it does exactly what we’ve always tried to do - put aside genre or mood, and focus on extreme, sound-design forward explorations of sci-fi aesthetics. It’s a celebration of the insanely broad range of music we’ve managed to fit into the Plasma Sources sound so far, and an observance of all the potential the imprint has to come.

There’s offerings from the full label family - we welcome back Cortical, Beton Brut, unearth, NIQH, J-Shadow and label boss HYPNA, who each present their signature laser-guided takes on club music. We also welcome a slew of some of our favourite artists right now - Ziyiz, Stolen Velour, Prior Self, Klahrk and Atrice highlighting the light, skittering side of our aesthetic, whilst Guide, Galtier, Bonebrokk and Reinartz illuminate the dark, deep and noise-tinged aspect of Plasma Sources.

As we look forward to the rest of 2025 and our future as a label, we offer up Multi-Source as a confirmation of our key aesthetics - juxtaposing dark and light, balancing experimentalism and dance floor sensibilities and interweaving sci-fi and biologically infused sound design.

dru-1's "preshuh" was composed in the artist's home of Trinidad during Carnival of 2024. Reflecting on the experiences and influences that shaped the record, UK-based artist Drew Lovett recalls inviting friends to stay with their family during the festivities, experiencing overproof rum, pan bands, card games, and doubles. Community and a celebration of sociality seem to shimmer through the EP's bass-ridden tracks, evident not-least in the prominent sound bites and vocals recorded on-site from those close to the artist during the Carnival.

The project unfolds across six tracks, each composition draped in FM synthesis and layered over gritty basslines. "preshuh" builds upon the

vision realized in the artist's debut project, a 4-track EP released on Why Be's Yegorka in 2024. This record punches with more technical precision, making a mature statement that feels cohesive and intentional, while retaining its playful essence. Lovett collaborates with Marta Rosa on percussion for the final three tracks—"maco queen," "palance," and "a4s."

Despite its moody basslines and clear roots in the UK club scene and Hard Drum, Lovett's EP is infused with a spirit of optimism and revelry. The EP opens with echoes of "toma!" and other indistinct cries, as timbale taps gradually build alongside jerky basslines in "diastema." The subsequent track "corbeaux," takes a more atmospheric approach, leaning further into lush melody progressions. Breath-like chirps fade in and out of the mix, allowing different melodic and percussive elements to shine at various moments. "Libido" calls the listeners to commune on the dancefloor, led by a steady four-on-the- floor rhythm. The hypnotic chant, "We come together," repeats with quiet assurance, woven through a backdrop of filtered basslines and dissonance. Crunchy, sputtering synths wind in and out of the soundscape, teasing a sense of chaos and rapture, grounded by the

steady rhythm beneath. In "maco queen," the record seems to reach a point of climax; jittering bass sounds overtake the atmosphere immediately. "Hey!" and "Ha!" shout over the flurries, punctuating the frenzy, while intricate low-end patterns and hand drums introduce moments of organic warmth. Percussive taps and clinks imagine an impromptu gathering of people jamming together. Here, Lovett seems to call us to let loose, to shout, to dance, to revel in excitement. The fifth track, "palance" unfolds over a steady four-on-the-floor rhythm, with intertwining synth lines that emerge and recede unpredictably, engaging in a dynamic interplay akin to an animated conversation among close friends. The EP concludes with "a4s," a vibrant, infused with Soca and Dembow breaks track that brings key elements from earlier songs—vocals, claps, and heavy basslines—crafting a dynamic yet cohesive finale.

Experienced in full, Lovett's EP is a call to togetherness—a sonic invitation to gather, move, and celebrate without restraint. Infused with the frenetic energy of the carnival where it was conceived, the project unapologetically embraces the dancefloor, urging bodies into motion, and spirits into communion. Beneath its pulsating rhythms lies

a deeper longing—not just for revelry, but for connection. In a world still relearning the rhythms of closeness, it asks: How do we rebuild the spaces where joy and community once thrived?

Shelter presents “Aveen” — the third installation in our genre-agnostic compilation series.

To follow up 2023’s “Feyrûse” and 2024’s “Mizgîn”, we have curated an emotionally charged collection of 17 tracks that press against the debilitating realities of life in the mid-2020s. The title stems from a Persian word meaning “pure” or “transparent” — signaling a search for unfiltered and sincere artistic expression in the midst of a social climate filled with smoke and mirrors.

“Aveen” features Shelter’s most international line-up to date, with music from 18 artists spread across 13 countries and 5 continents displaying their signature sounds shaped by their local scenes and cultures. 

Flowing through mutated shades of ambient, hypnagogic pop, trance, leftfield techno, neo-perreo, and GQOM — the compilation connects the myriad influences and mind-states of electronic musicians from nearly every corner of the world and tethers them together into a cathartic 17-track excursion.

Roland Nagy is a sound engineer, ex media arts student, and producer who started his Fausto Mercier project in 2016, so far appeared on Unlog, EXILES, Kaer‘Uiks, Pointless Geometry and Genot Centre. His work in the field of electronic music production, while resonating with hardcore digital culture and bouncy rhythmic heaviness, is closely connected to his fascination for natural soundscapes and their fractal nature. In particular, the artist skillfully manages to depict a violent, tense world populated of minuscule yet grand sound variations, intertwined in a web of apparently chaotic textures.

Listening to Bios Contrast–aka Nilotpal Das’--SSAC42 for the first time might be likened to the experience of watching sunlight shimmering on the surface of a body of water. There is an effortless spontaneity, a mesmerizing ebb and flow. There is a movement which continually reminds us of itself. We are drawn in without needing to understand why. Curiosity takes hold—not a ‘question-driven’ curiosity–but a quiet immersion in the unfolding moment. It feels familiar, but distant; intimate, yet undeniably alien–the more we surrender to it, the more it transforms. We do not give our attention so much as we permit ourselves to drift along. With each passing moment, we are captivated anew, drawn into the throes of unexpected emotion.

The sonic world of SSAC42 seems to pull influence from various forms of electronic music on the fringes. We hear rapid, intricate drum patterns. We feel the warmth of synth textures, the soft glow of ambient pads collapsing gracefully into themselves. The airy vocals of K_anti play a significant role–gliding in over arrangements at unforeseen moments, bringing us closer to something vast and luminous. We never quite arrive, but feel as though we’re always approaching. The tracks are melodic without being grounded in melody. They coalesce, fracture, and reform. A pattern begins, and vanishes, swiftly replaced by something else entirely. Time loses shape; moments of breathtaking stillness recline over fierce drum sequences.

This warping of time is notable in the first track “everyth1ng 1n l1fe”, where soft atmospheric elements churn slowly above chaotic jittering drums. The juxtaposition stirs, generating an ongoing tension that is never resolved. Ethereal, washed out vocals pull us further into weightless expanse. Lush moments build up and transfigure, revealing new forms with each phrase. The second track “EXT10” takes us further into moments of unanticipated wonder. Through the turbulence, shifting elements are not mourned as they pass, but welcomed; we do not question their departure—we move forward with them.

The third composition, “dysph0r1a” opens with a clear vocal presence.  K_anti’s tender delivery occasionally rises above the evolving terrain of synths—fleeting, decipherable, then submerged once again. Later on, the sixth track “ap0calypse 42” carries us through a striking arc: from softness to percussive fury, and back into calm. The transformation is tumultuous, but also cyclical—destructive and restorative in turn.

The shapeshifting quality of the album can feel disorienting. Just as we find comfort and predictability, it dissolves. Familiarity is teased, and withdrawn. Perhaps it is in this instability that the core of SSAC42’s potential lies. As the unending search for meaning in our human lives is consistently upended and reimagined, SSAC42 seems to quietly posit that moments of solace will reveal themselves amid the chaos; wonder and enchantment persist if we are willing to stay open.
