Dark Rainbows "AIS computer Mix"

This piece is a programmed, gestural based work created for the score of the multimedia dance work PYLON III. Four dancers had a series of 15 gestures they performed for 70 bars at 110 bpm. I consumed their written score, created 15 rhythmic phrases using toms, taiga drums, timpanis, etc, and wrote a program in Python to concatenate and map these audio phrases to the gestures performed by the four dancers. Each set of gestures over time were panned to the dancers positioning, further emphasizing the dancer as the source of sound.

HOLY FIGURES, a three piece band from North Carolina whose sound is based on a convergence of influences from rock to post-hardcore, deliver on their debut EP titled "Luck of the Draw". The release will call to mind bands such as FAR, Jawbox, and even certain eras of Deftones. "Luck of the Draw" features four tracks of post-hardcore rock that showcase the band's innate ability to balance heavy, driving rhythm without sacrificing melody. Lyrically Owen Smith, guitar and vocals, used the EP as a way of addressing past drug abuse through creative personification. The result is songs that are both relatable and honest.
