This week’s In The Basement features a live recording of Paul Inflyte’s set from
last weekend’s Sasha & Digweed aftershow in Belfast. Having supported the
duo many times over the years — from Shine and the Ulster Hall to Custom
House Square, Paul returned to headline the afters in Room Two at the
Telegraph Building for Shine.

This is the final hour of his set: deep, rolling house and hypnotic techno
capturing the energy and atmosphere of an unforgettable night in the city.

Blending analog warmth with cosmic groove, Franco-German producer, DJ, and live performer Franz Matthews has carved out a distinctive space in the nu-disco / groovy house scene. Based in Berlin, he channels a lifetime of musical exploration-from classical piano and jazz studies to psychedelic rock and world influences-into hypnotic, story-driven soundscapes. His tracks often feel cinematic, balancing pulse and spiritual poetry, with layers of synths, bass, guitars, and organic percussion that evoke both nostalgia and discovery.
 
As the creative mind behind HIFI/LOFI Records, he pushes new artists and brings out music that transcends genres and borders. His own releases on labels like AEON, Feines Tier, Eskimo Recordings showcase his unique sonic fingerprint: emotional yet danceable, dreamy yet grounded. Collaborations with artists such as Local Suicide, Johannes Klingebiel, Bonnie Spacey, and remixes amassing a huge number of streams-have further solidified his reputation as a craftsman of immersive club narratives.
 
Franz Matthews doesn’t just make tracks; he builds worlds where house meets psychedelia, and where every rhythm tells a story.

I recently had the pleasure of playing another Kiss & Groove night, with @toytonics' @virginie_aka_vir and Kiss & Groove founder @monixon-dj. Soulfie steps into our Spotlight Mix with a groove heavy house session built on soul, disco, and Brazilian swing. We first saw her at the Toolroom Academy x Crossfader party at ADE in Amsterdam and her energy was instant. This mix is packed with warmth, bounce, and proper dancefloor moments.

Originally from Santa Catarina and now based in São Paulo, Soulfie blends her soul and disco roots with classic house influences like Larry Levan and Louie Vega. Her sets move with groove and feeling, never needing big BPMs to lift the room.

This mix features tracks from Angelo Ferreri, Soul Central, Full Intention, Corrado Alunni, Mercer, Jay Vegas, Ghostbusterz, and more. Expect funk, swing, disco sparkle, and a few short edits from Soulfie herself.
