Collaborations can be a truly wonderful thing, but too often in the world of music, they are driven by algorithms rather than mutual respect. We are delighted to report that in the case of Luke + Gai, their teaming up was inspired by a deep love of each other's work; and the discovery that, even working remotely, they have a natural studio chemistry.

The Anglo-Italian duo have already stormed charts and newly reopened dancefloors with a single on Lost & Found and a remix for us here at Selador of label boss Dave Seaman's irrepressible Buzzfuzzle; and a fresh take on Hooj Choons classic West on 27th Street by Killahurtz is imminent.

Before that, however, let us present their Selador debut as a partnership – two tracks that already have the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Camelphat, Nick Warren, Yousef, Guy J and Cristoph excited.

J'aime L'amour takes as its hook a vocal sample from a song by Luke's old band Suicide Sports Club, and wraps it up in a bed of shimmering synths and crisp beats, the euphoria masterfully building as the track reaches a truly epic climax.

She Just is a truly beautiful piece of chilled, melodic electronica, equally at home on a dancefloor at the right time of night, or in your headphones. It oozes both class and beauty.

At first glance, the Smoring dice look like an unremarkable trinket. However, it is hard to find a more unpredictable and all-powerful artefact. Made of rare elven wood, they are used in emergencies that can be lethal. Instead of numbers, the dice are inscribed with mysterious symbols that, when combined, can grant various enhancements, such as the ability to break willpower, become unnaturally attractive, and many more. A side effect can be a karmic vortex that collapses all past, present, and future events into a single point in time. If this combination is used, the person instantly goes insane.

Making their label debut with the first interpretation of ‘Supernova’ is Pablo Bolivar & Nacho Sanchez. 

Hailing from Spain, Pablo Bolivar has been a fixture of the deep house underground for the better part of two decades. Revered for his sultry grooves and organic design, the Cantabria resident and Seven Villas label boss channels languages of varied musical landscapes, churning them into his own complex rollercoaster of intricate dubbed out house and techno. 

Of late, fellow countryman Nacho Sanchez has been a frequent production partner of Pablo, bringing his Detroit/Berlin coax of deep elegant techno for a creative synergy which has found the duo thriving. 

Now, paired once again for their Refraction debut, Pablo and Nacho deliver a heady interpretation of ‘Supernova’. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Spanish duo craft a sweeping sonic experience all their own, a transcendent journey into an wintry hinterland, where minimalistic grooves and submerged designs surface from their dubbed-out architecture, onwards to a finale meditative percussive arrangements.

Making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Cosmic Void’ is OHM. 

Long a student of the game, Iceland born, Denmark based artist Bjarnar Jonsson aka OHM has stayed true to the spirit of techno for the better part of three decades. With an amalgamation of deep, dub and charmingly meditative techno, the Copenhagen resident has more than etched his place in the genre’s history. 

Recent offerings via Greyscale, KONTAKT, Nordic Voyage, spclnch and his own OHM Series imprint, continue to show Bjarnar’s deft production hand and borderless approach, one that often lands in a creative space that works well for a broad range of astute selectors. 

Now, following a spring  remix of ‘Conclusions’ by Philipp Priebe, OHM adds Refraction to his resume with a stunning rendition of ‘Cosmic Void’. 

Staying true to the qualities of the original, but lovingly reshaped and rearranged into something familiar, yet new, OHM applies some soulfully intricate 4/4 pressure, which makes for a version that is percussive and rhythmic, with just the right amount of atmosphere, the ultimate dancefloor weapon if you will.

Born in Brazil, naturalized in Spain, and currently based in Barcelona - Pedro has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of atmosphere and rhythm, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula.

In 2023 he founded his own musical imprint REFRACTION RECORDS, representing some of the world’s most avant-garde visual artists, designers and musicians. Blurring the boundaries between house, techno and its closely related derivatives, REFRACTION operates with an inherent understanding of the principles set out by electronic music’s greatest innovators.

Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas has been a primary vehicle for Pedro's far-reaching work, with additional projects via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Madloch’s Sound Avenue among other specialized labels such as Hoomidas Records, TOR (When We Dip) and Loot Recordings highlighting his resume.

Over the years Pedro's tracks have counted on support from recognizable names such as Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Andrey Pushkarev, Eelke Kleijn, Pablo Bolívar, Armen Miran, Matt Darrey and Airwave just to name a few.

DJing for over a decade now, in his hometown Barcelona Pedro played in some of the best parties and clubs such as PACHA, NOM Barcelona, Cafe Del Mar, City Hall, Macarena, Valhalla etc. alongside names such as Sebastien Leger, Eelke Kleijn, Cid Inc, Fur Coat and many more.

On his home turf of São Paulo he was responsible for important nightlife projects such as UNIK ID, hosting artists like Nick Warren and Cid Inc, as well as the PROGRESSION nights held at one of the most important clubs in Brazil - D.EDGE, supporting world-renowned guest artists all year round.

Pedro's DJ performances focus on underground electronic music, especially dub house and dub techno, deep house, minimal and downtempo. His versatility to move between different styles depending on audience and event, allows him to perform club gigs same as festivals.
