Markučiai

For several years scientist Denise Margaret Matias has been doing a research in Palawan, a region in the Philippines, where indigenous people are collecting wild honey in the forest. It is one of their most important foods and medicines. 25 years ago they've tried to make honey-harvesting into a viable enterprise as well. Dr. Matias has looked at the relations between the people, the forests, the bees and the climate. While working there she learned about the idea of non-timber forest products. But how does it work really?
