Will and his parents tried to flee but were quickly swept up by the torrent of people trying to find a way out. The main exit was now guarded by several deranged elephants that were goring and trampling all who came near. Will got knocked to the ground and braced himself as he got kicked stomped by the sea of people desperate to save themselves. He felt a pair of hands grab him by the shirt and pull him up. “We have to run,” his mother shouted as pulled him along.

"Where’s dad?” he cried.

She merely kept pushing her way forward through the crowd.

“Mom, what happened to dad?”

She still refused to answer but he could see tears streaming down her face. They ran back towards the center of the tent and managed to break free of the main crowd only to find themselves face to face with a pack of lions. Their feline eyes glowed red and their vicious jaws seemed to gape unnaturally wide. The lions charged forward with terrifying speed. Will and his mother barely managed to hoist themselves up the scaffolding of the nearby wooden tight-rope tower before the monstrous jaws snapped at their heels.

Suddenly, a violent tremor shook the earth beneath them. The ground in the center of the tent began to crumble and split apart. Fiery red light emanated from the depths of a steadily widening fissure. The rickety tower on which Will and his mother were clinging could not withstand the earthquake. It came crashing down and, in the process, crushed the lions. Will was flung several yards away and he heard a loud “crack” when he struck the ground. His leg was fractured. He looked up and saw a that his mother was pinned to the ground beneath the fallen tower. Despite the searing pain in his leg, he dragged himself to his feet and stumbled forward to help her. When he got close enough to see her clearly, his heart stopped.

She was already dead.

Will was overcome with grief. All around him, the tent was was falling apart. Broken beams and flaming tarps fell to the ground and the ever widening chasm continued to draw nearer. The toppled tower was already starting to slide into the seemingly bottomless pit. He was out of time.

He mustered all his willpower, regained his composure, and scanned his surroundings for an escape. The elephants were no longer at the doorway but were instead herding people towards the chasm. This was his only chance. He fought his way through the chaos and destruction, ducked to the side of the elephants, and dashed through the open exit into the night air.

He made it! He tried to run away but pain and exhaustion quickly caught up to him. He collapsed only few paces farther and turned to look behind. The tent folded in on itself and was completely engulfed by the fiery chasm. As it descended from view, the fissure, like the maw of some terrible beast, rumbled shut leaving behind no trace of the circus or its occupants. Will alone had survived.

The music box fell from his hands and broke into pieces on the ground. The crash snapped Will back to his senses. He was trembling and was drenched in sweat. There was no doubt in his mind that that woman was no ordinary beggar. She was another one of His servants sent to torment him. This wasn’t the first time something had conspicuously come along to trigger Will’s flashbacks.

From his enemy’s perspective it was a win-win situation, for his enemy knew that Will would be condemned to a lifetime of paranoia and PTSD and that he would be forced to carry the burden alone. No one would believe such a far-fetched tale. Will may have escaped with his life all those years ago, but the damage to his psyche was already done. He may have escaped the Circus of Lucifer, but he would never escape the hell inside his mind.

Circus Of Lucifer

Hal’ydian wakes up in a remote mountain settlement in the medieval land of Dant’aerys with no recollection of who he is or from where he came except for a single memory of a dark place in ruin. After he discovers the existence of a sinister cult that’s sacrificing children to fuel their pursuit for immortality, he seeks out those who might be able to help him stop this menace.

However, this proves to be a seemingly impossible task due to the myopic and superstitious people of Dant’aerys who regard him with hostility and mistrust the moment they notice his most distinctive distinctive physical trait: his eyes differ in color from each other. This trait was only ever exhibited by an enigmatic race of people known as Dychromians who were thought to have perished long ago.

With the aid of a select few, Hal’ydian must survive in a strange and unfamiliar world, evade cloaked pursuers, piece together the clues of his identity, and discover that which even his enemies want to know: Who were the Dychromians?  All the while, he is having visions of a distant technological project that could effect the fate of the entire world.

This piece was an experiment to see how effectively I could combine various styles. I mixed together elements of rock, jazz, electronics, and symphonic music. I was heavily inspired by Yoko Kanno's chameleon like ability to write in every style under the sun. Jerry Goldsmith also influenced some parts.

Future Flight

“It was late. All was still save the occasional whispering of the trees. The pale illumination of the moon gave the forest a ghostly glow. The sense of isolation was both thrilling and comforting. The germans have a word for it, ‘waldeinsamkeit’. As I navigated the maze of trees, my attention was caught by a shimmering light nearby. I came to a small clearing and found the source: a nymph. She was like a human in form, but was clearly a creature beyond human understanding. Her translucent skin seemed radiate blue light like a diamond. She was the pinnacle of beauty. With a playful chuckle she skipped deeper into the forest. I don't know why I was compelled to follow, but I will never forget the spectacle that was the ‘Dance of the Moonlight Maiden’.”

Dance Of The Moonlight Maiden

This is an overture inspired by the book "Scar Night" by Alan Campbell. I really tried to capture the gothic steam-punk setting of the story by utilizing unconventional instruments and various metallic sounds.

Scar Night - City Of Chains

This is my second composition inspired by the book "Scar Night" by author Alan Campbell. This piece accompanies my favorite scene from the book in which one of the main characters, Rachel, becomes locked in deadly combat against a predatory angel inside of an abandoned spherical planetarium.

Adagio In G# Minor

This piece was inspired by a novel titled “The Horse’s Eyes" written by my father, Jason Garth. It’s a thrilling and highly memorable adventure that takes place in a western setting. However, it’s far more than your average western, but I can’t say more without spoiling it.

The Horse's Eyes - Overture

Harrison Ingemarson is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, pianist, conductor, and sound engineer. He has collaborated with numerous film production teams to compose scores that optimally service and enhance the cinematic material.

Harrison has a high aptitude with music production software such as "Cubase" and "EWQL Hollywood Orchestra" which he uses to create high quality audio files in the absence of live musicians. He has written in a variety of musical styles that include (but are not limited to) action, drama, comedy, fantasy, science fiction, horror, and classical.

Harrison lives by a personal philosophy that music should be a fun and positive force in peoples’ lives and tries to write in a manner that speaks to both the heart and the mind thus straddling that gap between the expected and the unexpected.
