tftk Sessions: mixtape by Nikolas Gale

This was the main theme of the theatrical play “Débrayage” by Rémi De Vos, performed at Nous Creative Space from October to December 2024, directed by Vasilis Triantafyllou.

Unemployment, the reversal of labor relations, the sudden marginalization of people and interpersonal & social relations, were the main axes that made up the puzzle of the anonymous characters of the play.

To El3ven αποτελεί μία βαθιά προσωπική καταγραφή του τρόπου αντίληψής μου μέσω του ήχου. Η σύλληψη αυτής της ιδέας ήρθε το 2011- 2013 και εξελίχθηκε σταδιακά μέσα στα χρόνια. Η φιλοσοφία μου απέναντι στα πράγματα, δε συμφωνεί με το εφήμερο, το βιαστικό. Η δημιουργία είναι  περισσότερο μια διαδικασία: μια γέννα άλλοτε επίπονη, δύσκολη, βασανιστική, όπως ο «Τρόμος», κι άλλοτε ανακουφιστική, όπως το «Μηδέν». H ανάγκη μου να δεχτώ τον ήχο μου με έφερε σε επαφή με κατώτερα ένστικτα, με την άγρια φύση μου, και μέσα από αυτή την διαδρομή αντιλήφθηκα εκ νέου τον εαυτό μου και τον κόσμο. Από την άλλη , ο δημιουργός χωρίς το έργο του διαθέσιμο σε κοινή ακρόαση είναι... αόρατος κι αυτό είναι το λιγότερο ασφυκτικό. Εl3ven... Ένα παιχνίδι με τα σχήματα και τους αριθμούς. El3ven is a deep personal recording of my understanding through sound. The conception of this idea first begun in 2011-2013 and it gradually evolved through the passing of the years. My philosophy towards life does not agree with the temporary, the hurried pace. Creation is a procedure: a “birth”, and it is hard, painful, torturous like “Terror”, or it is relieving like “Zero”. My need to accept, my sound, brought me into contact with inferior instincts, with my wild nature, and along this path I perceived myself and the world differently. The creator, as you may know, feels “invisible” without having his work displayed in public and this is at least suffocating. Εl3ven... is a game of shapes and numbers.
