The London-centric producers Finn Casey and Thomas L have been making music and throwing parties together for half a decade, and emerged as Silk 86 at the start of the year. With the intent to explore a housier direction under their new alias, they proved their adeptness at making dancefloor primed and melody infused grooves with their debut EP Clear Waters that was released on Manucci's Mistress in January. Their second endeavour, The Pleasure Venture, came out on Sneaky Music at the start of this month and, as the producers explain, is their "best attempt at being sleazy via music without being drunk, or too sleazy." And that is exactly what the release succeeds in doing - it is indisputably darker than their first record, but yet another diverting take on deep house with evocative  undertones.

As a twelve year-old Sascha listens to a lot of euro-dance-pop.His first purchased record after the fall of the wall was "Technotronic Mega Mix". A couple of years later he makes his first contact with techno and house thanks to Marusha's radio show 'Rave Satellite'. Being a regular listener results in Sascha buying his first techno record 'The Seawolf' (Underground Resistance).

My Favorite Robot aren't afraid to pay homage to their influences, as evidenced by this podcast. The basis is formed by a nice foundation of deep techno, yet al the garnish is formed by some synthpop, african drum patterns and wavey disco.

My Favorite Robot tries to maintain the spontaneity of their DJ sets in their live performances, in accordance to their mission of ignoring borders and broadening the definition of electronic music in order to deliver it to as many music lovers as possible: “When we were rehearsing for our first live shows, Voytek suddenly started a spontaneous jam of Alice in Chain songs. Jared and James were completely surprised and thus decided to keep that in our live set.” - C.
