Utopia Society presents: Utopia Tapes, a collection of podcasts from the most relevant artists who have left their mark on our project. This time we have Pyramidal Decode.

Born and raised in Italy since '98, Pyramidal Decode is the pseudonym of a techno polyhedral producer. He started DJing as a young teenager and has recently released some outstanding projects in labels such as Modularz, Edit Select or Axis.

Constructing complex sonic cathedrals from a mind- and toolset born of both the UK as the EU, the artist going by the name of Decka, presents quite a unique panoply of sounds to his willing listeners. His music reflects a fascinating blend of bone-stripping Techno and blissfully blinding Bass, forging a musical mélange looking both to the big room Industrial sound of the German capital, where he nowadays resides as well as the sub-low pressure rooted in his hometown of Bristol.

His productions are defined more by feeling than by genre: glints of Ambient, Breaks, Techno, but stand apart from any specific classification. Mindset is geared towards versatility and completeness, and the focus is to transmit, communicate, and forge a whole from elements that are both corporeal and transcendental, to conjure up a sonic and emotional scene that is diverse, pure and free.

Owner of atmospheric and hypnotic sound mixing the physical and mental plane, giving versatility and heat into the dancefloor, this is a set recorded in Berlin during his last visit when he was also performing at Kit-Kat Club.

He is always looking for new challenges and opportunities, touring regularly through Colombia, Chile, Peru, Spain, Germany, France, Finland, among others.

Supported by renowned artists most of his music is played by DVS1, Ben Sims, Richie Hawtin, Dax J, Slam, Eric Cloutier, Tripeo and several more.

He has shared booth with Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Rebekah, Truncate, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Jonas Kopp, UVB, among others.

Ribé, un techno disidente, un techno naciente de un alma que clamaba por un método para descuartizar el sonido, romperlo y descomponerlo para posteriormente recomponerlo y convertirlo en un sonido orgánico y hermoso. De allí salió ese sonidos sucio, afilado y, en definitiva, único que tanto le caracteriza. Porque Ribé sabía que el único camino para conseguir ese sonido genuino, inimitable, no parecido al de ningún otro productor, el sonido absoluto… pasaba obligatoriamente por un manejo de alto nivel de los modulares.
  
Por  supuesto  aquel  sonido  único  no  pasó desapercibido y pronto fue seleccionado por  uno  de  los sellos de techno más importantes de la escena internacional y sin lugar a dudas, fundamental a nivel nacional: PoleGroup. Exium incluyó el track ‘Deviation’ en uno de los recopilatorios del label de Oscar Mulero  y  pronto  fue  convocado  para  grabar  su  propio  EP  en  solitario  en  el  nuevo  proyecto  de  lacasa, el subsello de PoleGroup, Aine. Grandes artistas de la escena techno como el propio Mulero, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann o Antigone, entre otros, comenzaron a incluir sus tracks en sus sesiones y a convertirlo en uno de los nuevos productores fetiche.  
 
El siguiente paso ha puesto patas arriba la escena. Teniendo como referencia a grandes entre los grandes del techno como Surgeon, Blawan o Drumcell, Ribé configuró su propio directo en el que los protagonistas son los sintetizadores modulares que aprendió a amar y a manejar con desenvoltura y pasión. Un live genuino, basado totalmente en la improvisación pura, pero con una contundencia y un sentido que causan un efecto fascinante en el público que baila al son que Ribé marca. Clubs de referencia en el circuito madrileño, la casa de Ribé, como Utopia o Cassette ya se han rendido a sus elucubraciones.   
 
Porque Ribé es la síntesis de toda una vida dedicada al techno, sin tapujos, sin normas, pero con rigidez, severidad, y un afán casi enfermizo de crear nuevos sonidos.
Dentro de poco las producciones de Ribé y su particular sonido serán publicados también por sellos como Nonplus. ¿Qué será lo siguiente? De seguro, improvisar. Crear. Innovar. Porque de eso, probablemente Ribé sabe más que nadie.

Franz Jäger is an artist with a clear and distinct vision, having an approach on his music that combines a coherent notion of groove with skilful textures. His Illest Lost In Lab EP, that we are truly proud to include in our catalogue, is a proof of this mindset.  This way of interpreting Techno is also reflected in this one hour mix.
