About this project:

Crown Shyness is a collaborative project between ambient musicians encym and Wodwo. 

Since connecting in 2021, they have developed their music through a continuous exchange of ideas and sounds, constructing each composition layer by layer. This collaborative approach has blurred the lines between their contributions, creating a seamless blend of influences and styles that makes it nearly impossible to tell who contributed what to each track. 

The project draws its title from a fascinating natural phenomenon where the crowns of trees avoid touching each other, forming gaps in the canopy. This term metaphorically reflects the nature of this musical collaboration—each artist maintaining their unique presence while contributing to a unified whole, leaving just enough space for the other to inhabit.

Crown Shyness (encym & Wodwo)

This track was recorded in Lille (France) in 2019, and is all guitar, no synths. It's probably the track I finished most quickly - ever. Usually I keep on editing and adding or removing things, but everything came together very smoothly. A day, a day and a half, and it was done. Released on the album Organised Sounds last summer (2024).

Based in Kernow ( Cornwall ) For me its the music and the connections it makes. Expect some genre bending electronic music - Breaking the grid both vertically and horizontally but attempting to still be listenable.

I like to synthesise most things and I prefer uncompressed mixes and masters. If its quiet its probably meant to be a lullaby.
