Born in Frankurt, Germany on September 9th 1990, Nick Cobain ( Jamel Walcott ) was born to the parents of Enrique and Sarita Walcott. He has 2 siblings (Julian 30& Julisa 21) and is the youngest of the two. At the age of 5, he moved to East Stroudsburg, PA. When he turned 6, he heard something that would stay apart of him for the rest of his life. "One day i heard loud music coming from my brother's room, and i walked up to the door, but i didnt open it, and i heard this song. I just kept hearing " I see Death Around The Corner", ut i didnt know who it was. Ever since that day i just started listenig to more and more hip hop artist." It really didnt catch his attention until he heard one album. "It was the "Reasonable Doubt" by Jay-Z. From then on i was amazeed at how words could make it from nothing to something."

Nick Cobain played basketball for the Stroudsburg Mounties and was really good with his talent there, but would still write rhymes on the side. When he was in 9th grade, he was kicked out of school because of supposed threats to a teacher. He began to record music. "It was my escape." Young Harlem and Messiah helped with the music. Thats how BlockStar came about. "I dropped a song called "Strip Tease" which everybody liked, and that caught Yogy's attention, and that's how I met him. He sent me a beat, i did it that night." He later saw the song had 10,000 plays.

After that, its been history up until this point. He signed Nick in Feb. 2008. And that's when things came into a play. In 2008 alone, he dropped 6 independent mixtapes. His love of music as a whole grew more and more. "It's a rags to riches story, but i put it to my life as a metaphor. From my down falls, which is the rags, to being signed and being recognized for my music which is the riches."
