Enchanting, power-pop five piece Universal Thee return with their sophomore album, All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace, the follow up to the critically lauded debut Back To Earth. The album is due for release on 19th February 2016 via Eventual Heirs Records.

All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace sees the band make a natural progression in their sound, with a more focused, more intense record evolving throughout the recording process as Universal Thee embrace the nuances of a bigger polished production as well as an increased level of complexity to their songwriting.

The result is a record that captures all of their most positive skills as a band, constructing songs with an immediacy which is difficult to achieve, as contagious harmonies are married with memorable melodies and wonderfully crafted musicianship. Album opener ‘Why’ leads from the front, setting the tone for an album that contains ten tracks of glowing, uplifting alt-pop. Harnessing the influences of bands such as Teenage Fanclub, Pixies and current favourites Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, ‘Why’ features the band’s compelling guitar licks, boy/girl harmonies and ear-worm like choruses. ‘Xang’ and ‘Sail Away’ exhibit a grittier side to their songwriting, while forthcoming single Speaker has the potential to capture the imagination of a much wider audience.

Having all studied at Dundee University, James Russell (guitar & vocals), Lisa Russell (vocals), Robin Spivey (guitar) Andrew Perrie (bass) formed the band in Edinburgh, with Matt Grieve (drums) a recent addition. Universal Thee have been building their name north of the border playing a number of shows supporting the likes of Ded Rabbit as well as an appearance on the pyramid stage at the Kelburn Garden Party Festival. With more tours planned over the coming months, a debut London show in the works and the forthcoming release of their rand new album, 2016 is looking like a year where Universal Thee will spread their wings even further afield.

Hotly tipped indie-electronic four piece Native People return in 2016 with their fresh new single and sound, 'Don’t Save Me’ released as part of Killing Moon’s January Compilation Album.

Youthful and full of ambition, Reuben (22), Luke (22), Connor (19) & Hudd (19) have combined classic 80s synths with fresh indie-electronic ties drawing influence from contemporaries like Shura, Friendly Fires and Two Door Cinema Club. Don’t Save Me is no exception, every inch the summer anthem with sharp guitars, warming synths and melodic vocals arriving in time to welcome lighter evenings and hotter days.

Support for the four piece has grown rapidly since the release of their debut single, Calm Forever which saw the lads secure titles such as Record of the Week (BBC Introducing Kent) and Discovery of the Week (Amazing Radio) plus feature on the likes of Clash, AMBY & Spindle.

The quartets vivacious live set saw the lads sell out Club NME at London’s prestigious, Koko and caught the attention of indie experts Propaganda. Eager to get their new show on the road, Native People will be heading back out in the van on a UK mini-tour in March 2016.

We were very sad to hear of the passing of our inspiration and creative legend, David Bowie.

At the end of 2015, we wrote and recorded a tribute to the musical genius for inclusion on our debut album, due out on March 4th 2016.

It would seem poignant to let it be heard now.

Not Noticing

Echos of 80s New Wave bands mix with the darker underground music scenes to produce a guitar and synth-based retro-futurist sound for the 21st Century.

In Isolation's second album 'Shards' is out digitally in May 2020, followed by physical release CD in Septemeber.

In Isolation are four creative musicians and songwriters from Nottingham, with plenty of combined experience of touring the U.K. and Europe, playing the U.S. and much experience of studio recording.

Live shows have included direct supports with Desperate Journalist, Republica and ACTORS, and 80s bands Toyah, B-Movie, Naked Lunch and Balaam And The Angel.

Album one, ‘A Certain Fractal Light’ (now almost sold out) was engineered and produced by Gavin Monaghan, the man responsible for recordings by Editors, Babes In Toyland, Robert Plant and The Sherlocks.

Notable tracks from our debut - ‘Not Noticing’ and 'Elder Statesman': championed on local radio by Mercury Awards judge and BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson. ‘Mist’: performed on local television channel Notts TV.

The band helped Nottingham's 'Framework' homeless charity in some tiny way by donating a track to its fund-raising vinyl record project.

Lead singer Ryan Swift was recently invited to speak at an international astrophysics conference at Liège University in Belgium to discuss the creative inspiration behind In Isolation’s track ‘TRAPPIST-1: A Space Anthem’ from the forthcoming album. The manager of NASA’s Exoplanet Exploration Program, Gary H. Blackwood, was "thrilled by In Isolation’s anthem".

When our publishers approached BBC’s ‘The ONE Show’ to feature our music on prime-time TV, they said, ‘yes’. When we asked the BBC’s Tom Robinson and his team of music experts to feature us on national radio, they said, ‘yes’. When London’s top Alternative music promotor Frank Flag asked us to support the legend that is TOYAH, as well as Canada’s current darlings of the Post-punk scene, ACTORS, we said, ‘yes’.
