I start a new project from scratch. I try to mix my progressive rock influences with electronic sound to create a kind of original mix. It is quite difficult to select a specific genre for me but I hope to create a good feeling to my listener.

L’image qui parle, le son que l’on regarde

Initial Orchestra, c’est le pseudonyme que la musicienne Sarah Chièze donne à sa nouvelle
aventure. Dans ce projet l’artiste se réincarne pour créer un chemin jusqu’à la confluence
des genres. Elle propose une fusion entre tradition et modernité, électronique et
orchestrale, sonorité et images. Elle donne naissance à des représentations qui semblent
tout droit sortie des meilleurs films de science-fiction. À la fois verbal et pictural, Initial
Orchestra, nous invite à faire déambuler nos corps et nos regards. Pour cela elle use d’un
langage créé autour des formes sensibles de la musicalité.
L’intérêt, la curiosité pour le son se sont manifestés très tôt dans la vie de 
l'artiste qui vient d’une famille de musiciens. On l’envoie étudier au conservatoire à un âge où elle ne sait pas
encore écrire. Véritable enfant orchestre, elle apprend le piano, la flûte traversière, la
guitare et le chant. Si le piano est aujourd’hui son médium de prédilection, c’est par le chant
qu’elle approche la composition et comprend ce qui sera la ligne directrice de son travail : la
construction du langage. Ses compositions sont empruntes d’influences multiples allant du
flamenco au rock progressif en passant par la musique classique.
Actuellement l’artiste travaille entre Paris et Bruxelles ou elle vit. Elle a fréquenté les bancs
de l’université pour y étudier le cinéma et les arts visuels. Deux aspects très présents dans sa
vie professionnelle et sa musique. Proche de l’image, elle compose la musique de films et
développe une pratique graphique numérique qui lui permet, ente autre, d’illustrer ses
albums. Sarah Chièze développe à travers sa pratique une approche poétique et sensible via
le prisme de la sonorité. Elle créé une poésie faite de connexions pour interroger les liens
entre perceptions sonores et langage (verbal et visuel). C’est l’apparition d’échos
inconscients dans le travail de narration de l’image à la musique qui l’intéresse.
