INIT is the musical partnership of Frankfurt-based duo Nadia D’Alò and Benedikt Frey. The Rhein-Main duo’s first EP Talking About Talking / Blackbird on John Talabot‘s Hivern Discs marries dank electronics and shadowy atmospheres with Nadia’s disembodied vocals to cold and brutal effect. With remixers from New York’s Willie Burns to The Hague’s Cliff Lothar, INIT join the dots between wave-ish DIY minimalism and the kind of dread synthesizers that have characterised industrial neighbourhoods around the world.
