NormCore Attitude 22 w/ Slave To Society & Bad Tracking

The next mixtape comes from musician and composer Remo Seeland, who is behind the Swiss experimental label Hallow Ground. He’s presenting a selection of the label’s music, partly in response to the label's recent publication, their first ever "concept-compilation" Epiphanies (Hallow Ground, 2022) released earlier in March this year.


Founded by Remo Seeland, Hallow Ground was created in 2013 and has been instrumental in launching the careers of artists such as Kali Malone and FUJI||||||||||TA as well as recently releasing albums by Lawrence English, Norman Westberg, Maria W Horn and Siavash Amini, as many of Seeland’s composition as well. More than a record label, Hallow ground is a platform for Music and Art that leads to ‘Visions’, also acting as We act as publishers, hosts and performers.

For the label's first ever compilation, the artists were commissioned to pursue a non-rational creative process in approaching the phenomenon of epiphany through sound. The results, whether long-form, short vignettes, profane and concrete sounds or spiritual and abstract pieces, perfectly encapsulate what Hallow Ground as a label has stood for since its inception in the year 2013: challenging not only conventional notions of what music is supposed to sound like but also the listeners' perception through the power of sound.


The mix Seeland has prepared for us reflects on the sound of some of the main artists behind the label, and a joyous and sinuous journey into experimental introspection.

CLOT magazine presents HALLOW GROUND

030303 co-founder Freek Fabricius made this record in honour of his friend Floris Bovée who passed away early in 2020. For the EP, Freek took some of Floris’ musical ideas and reworked them - together with samples of Floris’ voice - into four excellent mid-tempo tracks for the emotional dance floor. Expect dense and organic harmonies on this record, which really feels like a mini album and is among some of the most heartfelt and poetic electronic music we have come across as of late.

ΛＢＩ is a resident of Edinburgh, Scotland and began making electronic music in the late 90s, playing at techno parties and clubs around the UK and europe. 
In 2015 he began releasing tracks under the alias ΛＢＩ focusing on harsh beat driven IDM, using a variety of analogue and digital hardware.

Taking influence from the 90s IDM scene that revolved around labels such as Warp, Rephlex and Planet Mu, Cardiff producer Pope John Paul Van Damme creates a visceral collage of techno, breakcore and acid - a sonic menagerie that could make even the most hardened raver feel like they're tripping on their own synapses.

His music has been praised for its abstract and experimental nature, yet, in the midst of the chaos, there's beauty to be found. Listening to his latest album, ‘How Am I Not Myself?’, released on 12” vinyl via Last Riot Records, is like peering into a kaleidoscope on LSD. His beats lurch and stutter, while melodies swirl like dervishes in a sandstorm. With tracks like ‘Say No to Yes’ and ‘An Overture to Illumination’, the Welsh wizard crafts a sound that is simultaneously hypnotic and unsettling, like a rave in a haunted cathedral.

Having explored the vast lands of the Hardcore Continuum since the late 90ies, he continues to be interested in the connections between signal and noise, the in-betweens and the nuances. Feeding from Techno, Rave, Bass and Dub, and often using more than just two turntables and a mixer, Ink! stirs up sets that are invitations to loose yourself in a sea of sound.
