This recording was made by the SuperCam instrument on NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover on Feb. 19, 2021, just about 18 hours after landing on the mission’s first sol or Martian day. The rover’s mast, holding the microphone, was still stowed on Perseverance’s deck, and so the sound is muffled, a little like the sound one hears listening to a seashell or having a hand cupped over the ear. Just a little wind can be heard.

Polaris is a track I  made some time ago, inspired by "Inverno" of "Le Quattro Stagioni" by Antonio Vivaldi. I exactly followed the poem of it, dividing also my track in 3 movements: the first one talks about the difficulty of walking in the ferocious winds, in the second one the rain has arrived and everybody tries to repare anywhere from it. The last one is like the resolution of everything: Winter is not just a sad season, but it is very important for the existence of the other seasons and of all us humans. The name "polaris." borns from this redudant THREE, cause it's a triple stellar system, the one that always helped travellers to find their way back home.
