Jorg Murcus and his "Eau De Cazeaux" typified a deliciously melodic Christmas present from the Particles catalogue in 2012. Rich in atmosphere and texture, Murcus' work has been a frequent feature of the Proton family roster with work for Apollo, and Jaksa Pavicevic's A Must Have imprint receiving considerable attention. For Murcus, 2005 proved an epiphany as his relationship with dance music took hold after a visit to a Queen's Day event in Amsterdam. A subsequent debut on Apollo in 2010 followed in the shape of the deep house, "Dageraad" EP and a relationship with Particles has seen his 2011 "Oktober" EP receive widespread support and generate a trio of outstanding remixes from Ioan Gamboa, Monojoke and Soulwerk.

Now receiving the full remix treatment itself, Particles is proud to announce a secondary release of "Eau de Cazeaux" with two new interpretations from Swedish production outfit, Inkfish.

A grandiose raison d'etre based upon deviation from mainstream cultural norms and to expand beyond those norms, give some context to the production values inherent in the Inkfish way of thinking. Originally a quartet of talented producers, Inkfish productions and remixes are now carried out by a stripped back duo of Andreas Hermansson or Mattias Lindblom with a maxim cleanly distilled into "simple but effective". Such a maxim belies the Inkfish presence on the world of electronic music and underground house. 470 Beatport production credits (including over 230 for their own Inkfish Recordings) spanning a 17 year history has seen a number one Beatport hit, one overall top ten and multiple genre top tens in breaks, techno, progressive and deep house. A plethora of other work has been signed to the likes of Anjunadeep, Armada, Bedrock and Renaissance with associated DJ support from across the globe.

Two remixes in 2011 including Sed Project's best-selling "Future Able" set the benchmark for a reworking of Verve's "Fusion" in March 2013 and now Inkfish return to Particles with new interpretations of both tracks from Jorg Mucus' "Eau De Cazeaux" EP.

The title track itself is delightful re-imagination of the melodic theme of Murcus' original. An up-tempo house beat immediately gives the track an urgency and presence as rhythmic motifs and ostinato combine with a beguiling blend of pads, gently pulsating against kick drum to give dance floor fascination. 

By contrast, partner track "Weltater" is a deep house gem with progressive undertones that ripples along hypnotically with chord progressions that evolve gradually into light melodic delicacy in the breakdown. Accompanied by straight house beats with subtle hints of percussive groove and reverb-soaked effects, the Inkfish remix of "Weltater" is an imaginatively reworked take on the themes present in Murcus's original.

A pair of remixes from Inkfish has demonstrated crystal clear depth of talent in Jorg Murcus' "Eau de Cazeaux".

With "Closer" Masterton debuts on Blackfoxmusic's 19th release (BFM019). "Closer" is a warm track with a deep groove and beautiful melodies. It relates to living in a long distance relationship and overcoming a lack of proximity.

Robert Babicz (Babiczstyle, Systematic, Bedrock Records) created an incredible remix. He used lots of the original melodies, combined them with new elements, added rolling drums and a thick bassline to give the track the extra drive. His remix became a constant part of his live sets and was debuted with great response at Grelle Forelle (Vienna) and Ritter Butzke (Berlin).

2014 saw Steyoyoke Recordings put the finishing touches to their artist roster and the label is now experiencing an ongoing creative continuum, bringing Steyoyoke to its current state of musical solidarity. ‘Family Affair Vol.04’ is a testament to this, as it provokes new inspiring ways for the artists to inspire and influence each other. Split across two separate releases, Part 1 and Part 2, “Family Affair Vol.04’ comprises of 9 remixes, which sees all the Steyoyoke artists adding their own personal flavours to some of 2014’s biggest tracks.

Part 1.
Soul Button’s remix of ‘First Glimpse’ by Aki Bergen is the curtain raiser. Possessing a little more energy than the original, this remix boasts an alluring new intensity and vibe. It is captivating and uplifting.
Next up, is Aaryon’s remix of Soul Button & Talul’s ‘Chasing Thoughts’. Building upon the intricate layers already existing within the original, Aaryon intertwines edgier synth flurries and a more sinister bass line.
‘Hydra’ by Animal Picnic is remixed by Nick Devon, who chooses to focus on the originals unyielding drive. Nick really draws out the true ruthlessness of this track, with techno influences infiltrating this remix from start to finish.
Dahu takes on the remix of Aki Bergen’s ‘Helix’ and he customises it with some menacing elements. He does however maintain the originals “raw minimal techno groove” and garnishes this with industrial style accents.
The final track on Part 1 is Ran Salman’s version of ‘7th Heaven’ by Soul Button. Opting for a slightly punchier sound, Ran enlivens his remix by incorporating a few extra synth riffs and a bouncer bass line.

Get Physical is happy to share duo Stereocalypse and their two-tracker ‘Arboria EP’. The duo have just begun the project, with only one previous release under their belts together – but as soon as you turn it on, you would think these guys have been at it for years. The title track is a magic weapon in eclectic Solomun’s afterhours, a warm, wobbly blend of bubbling synths, beautiful atmosphere and spot-on percussion, teasing drum rolls every now then while the synth slowly come to a simmer. The journey to the peak is as enchanting as it is satisfying, building up a gorgeous ambience and delicately filling out the soundscape. ‘Little Sad Orchestra’ carries the same traits, opting for, as the title would suggest, a more melancholic pressure with keen percussive dynamics and a gorgeous trip to the peak and back down.
