∞8888∞ (2021)

My track ∞8888∞ for the compilation is a reference to the uprising in Burma in august 1988 led by students that protested when one of their fellow studens got killed by the military. This massive demonstration ended in a massacre in which thousands of civilians where killed by the military, something that might have inspired their big brother, China to slaughter their own students less than a year later at Tiananmen Square and other locations in Beijing. The largest massacre of Chinese citizen in modern times.

The people of Burma have been protesting against the military junta for years, last large uprising in 2007 led by tens of thousands of Buddhist monks resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of people, arrested and tortured. 
This particularly brutal regime run by simpleminded generals seems to be disappointed that the citizens of Burma have chosen not to support these brutes by voting for them in democratic elections. They have now taken up their old routine of using deadly force against peaceful protesters. The world needs to stand up and act. To demand peace restored, the election results respected and forcing these murderous maniacs out of power.

I recorded this mix the day after volcanic eruption in Iceland. Beginning and ending the mix with an Icelandic artist BistroBoy whose music is soothing on the outside but bubbling underground. Hope you enjoy and stay safe.
