"Still reeling from a hot & sweaty Sunday night at a fully packed Bossa. I trekked all the way from Miami with every intention to bring my best and give Brooklyn a taste of how we get down in the south. The crowd's reception to that was everything I dreamed of and more. For the uninitiated, SEL.6 has a slew of amazing self releases in addition to work with labels like Miami scene staple Space Tapes and collaborations with fellow Miami-Dade all stars INVT and Nick León. She recently contributed a sick "muted Miami Bass" remix for Physical Therapy and Nick León's collab EP on NYC mainstay Allergy Season and is well known in Miami for her DJ skills - as evidenced by her countless incredible live recordings from Miami clubs like Floyd and Domicile, as well as her mixes for Fade to Mind’s Rinse FM show and Keep Hush.

We first met back in 2019 at The Lot Radio. I remember because there's a picture of us all with fresh faces in front of a comparatively clean Lot Radio wall 5 years and a 1000 stickers ago. She was visiting from Miami at the time and I had booked AceMoMa on the show (for honestly what may have been their first time on the Lot together? I'm not sure but it was close if not ! ). A bit after that Drummy recommended her speedy, voracious, immediate dj sets to me and I also had a incredible moment one evening walking across the Williamsburg Bridge surrounded in fog while listening to her 2020 self released debut DESIRE ( the first in a series of six under the same name).

She also did an absolutely wicked original production heavy 160 zone breaks mix for our Lot Radio show in June of last year. I was in South Florida back in April and went to Miami for a warehouse party thrown by Jezebel and Autonomy with friends Paurro, James Bangura, Sister Zo -- ran into Sel and cooked up this Bossa party right there. Couldn't be more happy to have had her come kill peak time at what turned out to be a  lovely party in Brooklyn. - @nickboydnyc
