Resident Mix 003: MoneyFiend

Inner Circle Recordings present their debut release, a 10 track powerhouse LP featuring a host of talented artists, some releasing for the first time ever, others adding to their impressive discography.

Ground Zero is an album which showcases the diversity of Inner Circle's underground sounds.

Lona opens with his debut track 'Shhys': an emotional flurry of breaks and beautiful atmospheres.

Deft Design also makes his debut with 'Late Twist': a creeping, twisted 140 track which builds superbly throughout.

UKG Bristol heavyweights Earthnut hit us with an intense glitchy number named 'Beats Pill' showcasing their darker side.

Label co-owner MoneyFiend gets the subwoofers shaking with Atomic Warfare: a heavy yet minimal 140 banger.

The prolific Armenez kicks off the D&B tracks with 'Hunter's Mark': Percussive, detailed, subtle, and an all round quality track.

'Raining Death' by another co-owner Sam Yurei is a unique sheller that keeps your attention with its blistering energy.

JTR adds to his huge catalogue of bangers with 'Submarine': a sub heavy stepper from the depths!

Nukem completes the trio of label co-owners with his track: 'Pangolin' which hits you with sharp breaks and deep growls.

Codin debuts with 'Gargoyle' - an aggressive rolling weapon of a track!

Finally - old school Junglist Ybot smoothly lays down some dark breaks to play us out.

Combined, these tracks make up an explosive debut release. Ground Zero is set to make the ground shake and the sirens blare!

Deft Design returns to Inner Circle Recordings after his debut track featured on our Ground Zero LP in April. This time he's got a full EP's worth of work to present, with this stellar project: 'We Come in Pieces'.

This EP is loaded with 140 dub pressure and Half-Step Drum & Bass energy. 'First Step' gives us a taste of what's to come with eerie stuttering synths and groaning basslines. 'Crazy Out There' folows on perfectly with dub-style delays and wobbling harmonics thrown into the mix. The title track 'We Come in Pieces' is a militant stepper, relentlessly pushing you through a tunnel of twisted percussion and deep bass, followed by a junglistic breakbeat section. 'War' finishes with a bang, firing bullets of bass and mid range arrows straight into your ear drums.

In conclusion, if you're a lover of dark, minimal, heavy hitting, eerie, crisp beats, Deft Design has you covered with this one.

Deft Design - We Come In Pieces

Inner Circle's Duke of Jungle makes his solo debut on the label with this 2 track project - an exploration of Nukem's musical influences and colourful sound palette.

The A side: 'Every Waking Moment' is a laid back piece full of classic of breaks and hypnotic vocals, driven by its warm bass line. The tablas and sitars take the track up a level and give it a unique feel.

The flip: 'Lonely Stepper' is a more dance-floor friendly tune for the soundsystems. The bass and breaks come correct as a solid foundation - complimented by some more South Asian instrumentation and vocal moments.

There's plenty more to come from Nukem but this is a great taster of what he's got in his locker.
