The latest house duo to emerge from the Parisian underground bid us bonjour with this stellar debut on Dialect, fusing retroist 80s leanings with brain mulching techno voodoo. Title track ‘Scandale’ and ‘Lame De Fond’ share the same pulsing sequenced heart, transplanted from Carpenter soundtracks and Italo disco classics and then zapped with a thousand volts of warped, detuned and malfunctioning synthesizer electricity. ‘El Topo’ replaces the bristling sequences with a spiky post punk snarl courtesy of live guitars, bass and organ (a la Suicide no less) but retains the twisted electronics for a woozy half time experiment in dancefloor psychedelia. Essential for fans of Joakim, Ivan Smagghe and early Gesaffelstein productions.

Greek composer and producer Sundayman is back with his third solo album, entitled “Scene Missing”.

Following the very successful release of “Retronome”, Sundayman and George Manoloudis (lyrics, vocals, additional composing and artwork) joined forces once again and the creative process and exchange of ideas between the two friends resulted in “Scene Missing”. The album was recorded in Sundayman’s studio from February 2013 until December 2015 and was produced by the artist himself.

“Scene Missing” is not easily classified in a genre, because while it is basically an electronic pop synth record, based on the use of analogue vintage synthesizers with influences from the timbres of the 70’s and 90’s, one can listen in this certain psychedelic elements and an atmosphere of film music. In other words, “Scene Missing” could be the soundtrack of all the outtakes of a film that has never been filmed, but only existed in the minds of its creators.

Released on vinyl, cd and digital album from Inner Ear.

O συνθέτης και παραγωγός Sundayman επιστρέφει με το τρίτο του προσωπικό album, που έχει τον τίτλο “Scene Missing”.

Μετά το πολύ πετυχημένο album του “Retronome”, ο Sundayman ένωσε για άλλη μια φορά τις δυνάμεις του με τον Γιώργο Μανωλούδη (στίχoι, φωνητικά, συμπληρωματική σύνθεση, artwork) και μέσα από μια δημιουργική διαδικασία ανταλλαγής ιδεών ανάμεσα στους δύο φίλους προέκυψε το “Scene Missing”. To album ηχογραφήθηκε στο studio του Sundayman από το Φεβρουάριο του 2013 έως τον Δεκέμβριο του 2015 σε παραγωγή του ίδιου.

Το «Scene Missing» δεν κατατάσσεται εύκολα σε ένα μουσικό είδος, γιατί ενώ είναι κατά βάση ένας ηλεκτρονικός pop synth δίσκος που στηρίζεται στην χρήση αναλογικών vintage synthesizers με επιρροές από τα ηχοχρώματα των 70’s και των 90’s, μπορεί κανείς να διακρίνει σε αυτόν κάποια στοιχεία ψυχεδέλειας αλλά και μία διάθεση κινηματογραφικής μουσικής. Με άλλα λόγια, το “Scene Missing” θα μπορούσε να είναι το soundtrack όλων των παραλειπόμενων σκηνών μιας ταινίας που δε γυρίστηκε ποτέ, παρά μόνο στο μυαλό των δημιουργών του.

I made this music way back in 1995 when i was finishing high school .
My good friend Dean Henning . AKA = Captain Asthma  helped me with programming some of the beats as Dean was our main drummer in Both our high school bands "Incurable" and "Fingerhead" .
I had at this stage in my life a KORG X3 Workstation Keyboard ( Thanks to my dear parents and Babs Naidoo Music in Pietermaritzburg )

At this stage in my life i was obsessed with early 80s electro music ............. bands such as Grauzone , No more , D.A.F , Joachim whitt , O.M.D , Front 242 , Kraftwerk .................... this type thing .
Of course at this point in time in South Africa ( One year into our new Democracy ) Most people where not listening to this type music .
Dean and I attempted to Record a Second Unit album in Pietermaritzburg , in a studio with our friend Gavin .
The music was recorded straight from my Korg onto DAT tape and the vocals and bass guitar where recorded separately.
Unfortunately our DAT tape was corrupt and the recording was a disaster .
Somehow Dean came into possession of a recording made onto cassette tape ................... and this is the only recording of Second Unit in existence .
This music was very personal to me when i made it
