The second mix in this series is by Italy’s Volcov. Around since the late 80’s, the DJ, producer and collector is known for his extensive knowledge and his gift to seamlessly spin across all genres with ease.

Volcov stays active with three labels of his own (Archive, Neroli and SJNRL), producing under the Isoul8 moniker and currently maintains a busy schedule as part of the infallible Sounds Familiar roster.

‘I’ve been asked by Crown Ruler to do a dance floor mix for their new series, but i never really play dance stuff at home. So i thought to record a selection of old favourites from classic soul, rare groove and 2-step [slow soul songs that people in the UK used to actually dance to] to other 80s jams. Nothing too clever, exotic or rare [most records go for less than a tenner] but hopefully will stay in your car, computer [and who knows heart] a little longer…’
