On the Horizons EP, NK Music revisits the sound of his older catalogue, combining the right amount of dirt and lush emotion so that everything drips with soul. Back in 2019, my parents gifted me their old VHS camera and I took it to the woods near the village where I grew up to try it out for the first time. I digitalised the tape a couple of weeks ago and really liked the footage, so I watched it in a loop on one side of the screen while producing beats on the other, and this little tape came out within just a couple of hours.

I kept it very minimal, only sampling recordings of me playing my vibraphone along with adding a simple drum line and a few bass notes. It was very enjoyable for me to go back to making beats in a much more simple way like I used to around 5 years ago, and the meditative & introspective vibe of the music blends really well with those amateur documentary-style visuals.
