zakè and dotlights met in early 2023, although both artists found that they shared affinities towards each other's works for years. Through conversations, there was one album that both artists equally cherished, ‘Stay With Me’ released in the summer of 2022 with zakè’s good friend T.R. Jordan. The album also featured a special appearance by the lovely marine eyes.

Deeply drawn by the sounds and story behind the album, dotlights commenced working with the original stems to create a very special collection of reimagined tracks with his unique lofi beatmaking and beautifully composed guitar aesthetics he’s become known for. With the assistance and this newly collaborative approach, zakè worked with both old and new stems, in addition to adding new synth production, field recordings, and tape manipulations to these remixed tracks.

dotlights is a guitarist / beatmaker from the Netherlands and a frequent contributor to Chillhop Records and Memoir Music. Working from a small home studio in a quiet town near the German border, he blends his guitar aesthetics with downtempo electronica vibes and lofi beats.

zakè (aka Zach Frizzell) is the founder and head of Indianapolis-based Past Inside the Present, which has become a standard bearer for modern ambient and experimental artistry since its creation in 2018. In addition to PITP, he runs the collaboration-focused Zakè Drone Recordings, and has released for Azure Vista Records, Dunk!Records, Polar Seas Recordings and others.

Pseudo Slang x Pawcut x Millennium Jazz Music "trekkin in the hiwaters" is a 3-Track EP which are some lil splashes before a rather sizable wave of music, most notably the forthcoming full-length from ps x paw x mjm entitled “remain in openess” (22nd November 2024). The duo and MJM offer up this tiny EP in the meanwhile to wet the toes slash whet the appetite. 

Appearing serene reflecting across the rippling surface, the push and pull underneath however, is forceful in nature. Any individualized interpretations of these capsules are vigorously encouraged. #psxpaw sooth & slice forward into the fog of tomorrows’ fictions, truths, and bright flashes.

Inner Ocean Records is a platform and collective for emerging artists to release music and visual art.
