The two brothers from the Okvsho Duo grew up in the city of Zurich with influences from oldschool classical beatmaking to the Modern Jazz Scene, Funk and Neosoul. Their Balkan origins and their Brazilian percussion experiences truly inspired their music. The Orange Wine EP, their first release on the label record Hip Dozer, seems like a logical new step for the duo. Jusqu'ici Tout Va Bien' is a smooth and groovy jazz beat adorned with live saxophone recordings, tropical drums and a beautiful round bass giving the song an undeniable groove.

Illa J and Atamone are back with Written, a song that probes the artistic process, encouraging us to break through barriers and express our best selves. Yancey explores the question personally, reminiscing on formative experiences with his brother J Dilla and waxing poetically about his own creative process. All of it is delivered with a smokey vocal that melts over a sweet-like caramel guitar riff and a trap groove from the Montréal-based collaborator Atamone, who with Yancey form a prolific production duo. The two are currently deep into studio sessions to take their creativity even further. We can’t wait to hear what they’ll write next.

Inner Ocean Records is a platform and collective for emerging artists to release music and visual art. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the label was conceptualized in 2012 as a vehicle for artists to have their music heard and seen, to build a community of passionate people. We’ve built the backbone of this label around great sound and feeling; laid back, honest and forever chill. We have released a lot of different sounds; Ambient, Lofi Hip Hop, RnB, Modern Funk, Future Soul and Indie.
