I came up with this song inspired by a short road trip I took to visit a friend I hadn't seen in a long while. I always end up having a great time visiting this friend so I was very much looking forward to getting there. I was dwelling on all the fun times we'd had on my way there.. wishing I could drive faster than the speed limit. I had a whole weekend of trekking, camping, and barbecuing planned and had packed all my gear with me. The sheer anticipation of a short break with my friend and beers in the sun had me pumped! So when I was back at my studio I had to turn that feeling into a song and 'on my way' is the result! I hope you like it!

"Warm Flicker" is the first single from the first rocomoco album "Into The Blue" (September 2021)

The track combines downtempo music and lofi hip hop. It is inspired by the vibe of Nineties music from Kruder and Dorfmeister, Rockers Hifi or Guru's Jazzmatazz and you will hear the crunch and the dust of nowadays lofi hip hop productions.  

One of the samples contains the shout out “Keep it warm flicker” which leads to the main topic of the track. Warm Flicker sentimentally looks back to real live moments when the flame of a candle and a good friend by your side had been enough to make you feel at home in the world. Today the computer screens have replaced the candles. Even tho it is a cold type of light, LED monitors are able to evoke cozy illusions of social participation. They are keeping us entertained and they are holding us back from asking and overthinking too much.

Somewhere between our strongest emotions is a peaceful detente, an opportunity to recharge and reaffirm the way forward. With the return of Northern-France’s Tenda Senda we have that moment, with another collection of clear-headed chill-hop and downtempo. Grounded in deep bass with simple arrangements of guitar and twinkling melodies, the artist builds a home for us to cozy up in, memories in the music becoming our own. Drifting through the sweetly emotional track 'Love & Fear', to the warmly optimistic 'Q&A', and closing with the charm and romance of 'The Ballad', the 'Love & Fear' EP offers us an occasion to relish self reflection.
