One Day

Urban Repurpose sees David Lavoie back on Inner Ocean Records with his second release, this time with fellow Capilano University Jazz compatriot Carson Tworow. If these two names sound familiar, chances are you’ve heard of their lo-fi mixtape project, Chill Evans. For this collaboration, Lavoie’s talents as a trumpet and guitar player and Tworow’s drumming and electronic production background are the focus, culminating in 11-tracks of all-original beat-driven jazz compositions. Urban Repurpose features the brilliant trinket My Name, the smoky neo-soul Second Hand, and the undeniably funky Night Function. And plenty of swagger from start to finish.

The Norwegian producer fnonose, lover of ambient lo-fi hip hop teams up with the very productive San Diego based beatmaker CMJ for their track called ‘Come With Me’. They blended together their own influences to create a track in between their two worlds: lo-fi jazz and ambient beats. Follow them in a sweet reverie brought to you by soft chords and elevating saxophone sounds.

Drips Zacheer is a Greek producer and beatmaker that built a solid audience around his musical universe oscillating between chillhop and lo-fi beats. Accompanied by his guitar and drum kit he makes groovy tunes, such as ‘tungsten’. The track starts with a jazzy piano and embarks the listener on a cinematic journey thanks to its uplifting hip-hop beat. Overall, the catchy melody creates a laidback and soothing atmosphere.
