'Ki' is the 8th collaboration between the brazilian close friends Yuri (Linearwave) and Daniel (colours in the dark). 

Originated in the Chinese Buddhism in the sixth and seventh centuries C.E., Ki is a Japanese ideogram which concept can be as deep (or as ephemeral) as any given moment. A meaning that is hard to translate, but similar to "the essential energy of life" - a small word that is the basis of the Japanese's life philosophy.

The simple yet complex meaning of Ki was the inspiration for their new track, which has many layers but still keeps the simplicity of a classic lo-fi beat. Furthermore, the inspiration of Ki's meaning not only came because they love its concept, but also because they believe that music is one of the essential energies of life.

Unabashedly true to himself, forever holding to his own style and vision, his latest effort is a keystone into the guitarists highly colourful lexicon.  If we look at Hirasaka’s proud list of influences such as John Frusciante, Fugazi, Tortoise, J Dilla and Keifer, the picture becomes clear how Hirasaka lands on his unique compositions that combine seemingly disparate genres into effective songs that are equally catchy as they are challenging. 

The release comes on a collectible tape cassette featuring the unmistakable artwork of Ivan Merlin (aka Stab Master Arson), painting Hirasaka’s Tokyo apartment studio into a beautiful abstraction. A must have for the fans of true and good music!

Elijah Nang is a London-based experimental electronic artist who also describes himself as an audio novelist. In his music, we find a frequent homage to East Asian elements and sounds. His sound crafts a new niche in the lofi hop-hop genre, a mixture of electronica with Japanese influences, something Nang calls japtronica.‘Sora’ means sky in Japanese. Listening to this atmospheric track will leave soaring through the sky.
