Truth, Vishuddha (Shavasana)

Excerpt taken from a long-form composition inspired by the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, filtered through modern digital composition tools.  Preceded by an electronic facsimile of Qawwali, syncopated arpeggiation, then an atmospheric ambient soundscape, around minute 20, this excerpt ("Agni Rising") begins with harmonium and electric guitar and builds to a crescendo ("Peak Solstice"). 

I hope you enjoy this work, which is possibly the most beautifully mournful piece I've produced to date.

Inner Solstice (Excerpt)

This piece is inspired by the lunar eclipse and too many hours listening to Pink Floyd albums.  Composed as part of the opening score for Inner Sound Meditation's July ~Reveal~ Sound Bath at Rudramandir in Berkeley, California.

What Obscures Your Gifts?

Inspired by William Basinski's Disintegration Loops in which an orchestral tape loop literally disintegrates over the course of the recording.  This experimental piece flips the script and takes a distorted, shattered musical phrase and slowly restores the sound to its whole self.

ilp 1.1 (Re-Integration Loop)

Individual piano notes, clean and dry, are centered amidst a gentle rainstorm of melodic percussion falling on a bed of fertile earth.  This is a suitable soundtrack for nurturing new ideas, dreams, and revelations.  Or just taking a nap!

A somber, reflective piece built around repeating musical motifs interwoven with atmospheric electric guitar.  Commissioned for Inner Sounds Meditation's Transits Workshop.

InnerSoundscapes explores the power of sound to unleash imagination, stimulate visualization, and restore mental and physical calm.  These works are inspired by the burgeoning art of sound meditation, the deep history of ambient music, and my personal enthusiasm for the sonic profile of vintage keyboards, analog effects, and subtly distorted signal processing.
