8 years after the last single release “Tatischeff” on Innervisions, german-duo Âme remain at the forefront of electronic music and look to the future with their 100th catalogue number. For the title track ‘The Witness’, Âme teams up with Syrian-Armenian-American vocalist and composer KÁRYYN, who’s cryptic and stimulating lyricism has inspired the likes of Björk. She combines her musical production with a symbiotic spoken-word performance that marries with the hypnotic minimalism of Wiedemann and Beyer, transporting us to another dimension entirely.

Experimenting with vocals and personalities, Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer of Âme explore a heavier sound with the new release. Despite their prominence within house music, IV100 noticeably combines the unique sounds of Wiedemann and Beyer’s solo performances (Live sets and DJ) with characteristics of techno, commenting that “this EP could be seen as the biggest common denominator”.

The ancient haruspex used to read chicken liver in a bid to predict the future and foresee natural disasters. Taking influence from this technic, Fango embarked on a long insular trip, reflecting down till the depths of his own soul. The outcome of this arcane ritual is "Viscera", a series of 3 EP's focused on the pure essence of Fango’s artistic delirium.

Hot on the heels of the monster release of “Mutter” on Gerd Janson’s Running Back, Konstantin Sibold has delivered an acid remix for the Danish experimental pop band WhoMadeWho.

The original song, an infectious 3-minute pop ballad has been mutated and stretched out into a pulsating acid track, aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Tomas Høffding’s vocals sit proudly over a thumping kick drum and result in 7 minutes of potent, almost ominous club music that sits resolutely at the low end of the pH scale.

‘Glutes’ is peak-time material without being overly fast or chaotic, the energy instead coming from the transportive arrangement and emotive melodic content. The same can be said for Bäumel’s ‘Surge’ on Kompakt, an anthem in the sets of Tale Of Us last year which led to this release.

The title track rises and falls, surging with wide-sweeping synth notes and a steady rhythm to anchor the waves. An infectious refrain pulls you further in and, right on cue, the kick drum continues to beat the sweet spot. ‘Engage’ is filled with similarly subtle details, uplifting arpeggios and atmospheric reverb. Half-way through the melody bursts into life, shining brightly through the haze and creating one of those moments of release that make the Afterlife sound work so well on a dancefloor.

It’s Agoria’s first solo release in more than a year and each of the directories (sound tools) have been featured at the Philippe Parreno exhibition at Turbine Hall / Tate Modern during the past 6 months. Part of the exhibition's sound design has been created by Nicolas Becker who included the directories, him and Agoria are friends and have collaborated in 2015 on his Independence EP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2aQEqXzxvQ - Nicolas Becker who was one of the many collaborators for the sound design of the exhibition is an award winning sound designer of Hollywood movies like Gravity and The Arrival.

The Drums of 'Boomerang’ are recorded by Narada West alias Aymeric, half of Aufgang, and also drummer of Cassius.

Prolific duo Pig & Dan land back on Cocoon Recordings, which is familiar territory having had their debut single released on Sven Väth's imprint in 2001. Here they deliver a pair of techno ballads in their 'Reset Your Bassline' EP, which features the driving, dreamy and emotive techno cut ‘Lost Another Angel’.

Dan describes the vision behind the melodic arrangement: “It’s all about hand played synth parts, twisted melodic riffs and a hypnotic yet groovy bassline.”

The 'Reset Your Bassline' EP is out November 30.
