Ring the alarm - multi-instrumentalist Jimi Jules scheduled for the album „+“ in 2022, executive produced by Innervisions label boss Dixon. The album features the most sought after and requested tracks of the last month including „My City's On Fire“, revolutionary „Der Aufstand“, dancefloor romance „Burning“ and „Clinomania“ featuring Joy Tyson, and fabulous Lily Allen / Elton John drummer Nathan Curran. The artwork concept is developed and designed by iconic graphic artist Trevor Jackson, whose multi-disciplinary works formed the graphical identities of design, music, fashion, and art by the likes of Soulwax, HFD / Comme des Garcons or Apple Music. Jimi Jules’ second album signifies his return to future-focussed album concepts. A welcomed novelty and venture. Exploring themes such as free thoughts and togetherness after a period of interpersonal absence. Better Together Forever.

A unique character in the electronic music scene, Jimi Jules is a multi-instrumentalist and school-trained musician with much more to offer than the standard four-to-floor sound. Jimi plays nearly everything from drums to trumpet and sings almost all the vocals himself. The talent probably lies in his roots, as many of his family members are known for their playing in jazz bands and classical ensembles. Most recently awarded a silver disk marking 200,000 copies of the 2020 track “Pushin On” in the UK, Jimi Jules also commenced a new collaborative partnership with Berlin-based booking agency, Temporary Secretary, earlier this year. 

As the new era is underway for Innervisions, Jimi Jules “+” takes center stage of the label’s fundamental core - artist first, label second. For Jimi Jules especially, this new project represents the beginning of a whole new platform and innovative space for collaborations and symbiosis of mixed media.

PREMIERE: Parallelle & Nicolas Masseyeff - Bandidos [Crosstown Rebels]

On 22 September 2014, the highly prolific Spanish DJ/producer Dosem returns, with his hugely anticipated third album ‘City Cuts’ on Coyu’s illustrious Suara imprint.
“It's an album inspired by urban life which includes some of my experiences from the last couple of years touring different major cities around the world like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Buenos Aires and Barcelona.” Dosem.
Dosem, whose real name is Marc Ramirez, has been a prominent name within the global house and techno scene over the last six years and regularly features on revered labels such as Christian Smith’s Tronic, Carl Cox and Jon Rundell’s Intec, Technasia's Sino, John Digweed’s Bedrock, Gregor Tresher’s Break New Soil and, of course, Coyu’s Suara where he is classed as one of their core artists.
‘City Cuts’ still boasts all the unique production values of Marc’s previous acclaimed albums (‘Parallel’ in 2011 and ‘Origin’ 2013) but this time he progresses by showing us a different side to his musical prowess, delivering what feels like his most accomplished long-player to date.
“My last album was mostly techno,” says Marc. “With this album I wanted to show my other side, so it’s more house oriented. It's an album especially designed for dancing in a club but it also has tracks with soulful substance.”
‘Runnerpark’, the album’s impressive opener, is an immense production that encompasses powerful arpeggiated melodies, striking euphoric chord stabs and an unexpected dub-influenced breakdown. The album continues by showcasing and array of killer tech-house gems such as the funk-fuelled ‘Cos of Me’, the infectious disco-tinged ‘Expression’ and 90s-rave-inspired future classic ‘Cuts or Cats’.
Other highlights include, the super hypnotic ‘Message’ and the moody techno cut ‘Streetout’, which were released together as an EP earlier this year, as a precursor to this album, to much acclaim.
Aside from the wealth of dancefloor-focused tracks, there is also two incredibly inspiring electronic soundscapes in the form of ‘No Past’ Ft. Louder Bays and ‘Lost Taxi’. Akin to the works of Moby and Unkle, both tacks are totally mesmerising and add a further dimension to the album. Marc says “I’ve got to say ‘Lost Taxi’ it's probably the most emotional track on the album and I feel especially linked to it.”
All in all, ‘City Cuts’ is a very confident and imaginative long-player. While moving from track to track, nothing ever sounds out of place and is all tied together with an incredibly strong sense of melody. Developed like a well-crafted DJ set, this album is not only full of intrigue and excitement but also makes sense as a listen, highlighting Marc’s supreme talent, depth and versatility as a DJ/producer.
