For our second release of 2017 we welcome Ukraine’s finest, Yan Cook to EarToGround Records. 

A go-to producer for many Dj’s, his Techno is definitely a force to be reckoned with, on the dance floor and his signature haunting atmospheres and pounding basslines leave a lasting impression.

Tracks created for the release hold their own individual place in any set. From the intensity of ‘Buran’ to the slick movement of ‘Magnetized, the full track list has been tried and tested with excellent response throughout.

Next up on Format Records is a brand new four-tracker by Joton, including a remix from Setaoc Mass.

On the Zeroreux EP, Joton delivers four strong cuts that perfectly matches Format trademarked basement techno vibe. Up first is the title track, which sets the tone with an ensemble of solid kicks and whirling synth stabs. Setaoc Mass drops a bass-heavy remix of the track that will definitely do the damage on the floor. Adding a scruffier, slightly more metallic groove to the mix, ‘Doscope’ weaves in dubby sounds and minimal percussion. Closing the EP is ‘Develose’, an uptempo and industrial belter designed for peaktime purposes. 
FR016 continues Format’s quality discography with another release that’s not to be missed.

Prolific Italian producer Kaiser makes his long awaited debut on Soma with a perfectly executed 4 track EP, The Way Back. Having been present on the scene through releases with Planet Rhythm, Animal Farm and more recently his own K S R imprint, Kaiser's style is a mixture of abrasive, hypnotic Techno blended with element of minimalism, glued together with a solid amount of groove. 

Title track The Way Back reminisces to Birmingham-era UK Techno with it’s thundering rhythms and twisted synth hook. Tales Of The Future takes things on a more futuristic tip as spacial polyrhythms build the structure of this very functional track. Ramping up the pace a little more, Loud Cries builds incessantly as impulsive percussion drives this perfectly crafted tool. Clubbed to Death finishes off this Soma debut EP from Kaiser with a speedy broken beat as atonal pads and drones create a densely packed, atmospheric and climactic track.
