Another edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is just around the corner, and this year marks its 30th anniversary. As always, Chrom Recordings is ready to celebrate in style with their annual ADE Sampler and a 2-day label showcase happening on Friday and Saturday. Our ADE Chrom Sampler features 10 carefully curated tracks, reflecting the diverse sounds of Progressive House, Indie Dance, and Melodic House & Techno. The Compilation opens with 2 recent Chrom anthems: Horizon, taken from the #100-album by our own label manager Pedro Mercado alongside Karada, followed by our latest single Missing, the iconic 90s classic from Everything But The Girl covered by Yves Eaux feat. Gregory Douglass. The remaining 8 tracks are brand-new and exclusive to this release. Half of them are contributions from trusted Chrom regulars: Fernando Lagreca, DJ Andy de Gage, Paul Sawyer and Daniel Vilchez. The other half is coming from artists who are new to our label: JP Lantieri from France, VUH from Mexico, GELIMA from Thailand and Juwlz from Belgium. We hope you enjoy this years selection! And if youll be in Amsterdam this October for ADE, wed love to see you at our Label Showcase on Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th. Just like last years, were teaming up with our good friends from Tanzgemeinschaft, with Strange Town Recordings from Canada joining us on Friday. Across two days, well feature 16 international artists performing from 18:00 until 02:00 on both days at The Flying Dutchman (located opposite Amsterdam Central Station). Hidden Recordings first release of 2019 sees longZme label boss Deepak Sharma conZnue to build his por[olio on the imprint with a fourth solo EP, a gri]y and tense four-tracker ‘Patala’.

Patala in Hindu cosmology refers to the subterranean realms of the universe, an underworld beneath the earth. Rising up you reach Prithvi, or the mortal plane that is earth. Above that is Svarga, or heaven.

Inspired by these worlds, he delivers three originals with pulsaZng synth lines, raw rhythmic drums with hypnoZc and ethereal soundscapes.

Tadeo is widely respected and revered for his forward thinking imaginaZon and offers a complex, powerful remix blending Detroit and Chicago techno.

Side A begins with ‘Patala’ and freneZc synths influencing the mind through airy hypnoZsm, exhibiZng subtlety in creaZng a dance-floor groove. Tadeo’s ambiZous remix blossoms from the original adding new musical landscapes and marvelous sounds.

Side B starts with ‘Prithvi’ keeping you on edge between the underlying vocals sca]ered between a gripping baseline and off-kilter synth movements with Zmely off-beat drums that culminate into a dramaZc show overall. ‘Svarga’ stretches out with twisZng and curving synth lines and intensifies with an ebb and flow of eerie sound and spacious atmosphere.

Portuguese duo Moddullar returns to the label with this 4 tracks ep. 

Moddullar, a duet reunited in favor of the manifestation which is music, in search of its symmetry. It's only asked to the listener that they allow themselves to board in this trip, as the aftermath of well well rhythmic and progressive melodies. The darker sonority of this duet help us find the true essence of Techno, where a continuos line of sounds wrap us mentally. Both are aware that perfection is reachable, they strive to make the listener feel more than a spectator in their quest to find it. Born in Barcelos, a small city of Portugal, the duet searches for its place on the Electronic’s big stages and to become a reference of the genre.

Title track ‘Mercurial Skin’ sees new life via Ellen Allien’s ‘Remix 2’ as the BPitch Control boss lays down eerie synths amongst bumping bass licks, whilst Reeko’s remix of ‘Brother’ ups the energy and channels the track’s intense vocals to deliver an ominous peak time offering. Benjamin Damage’s remix of ‘Mouais’ combines rich organic percussion and sweeping atmospherics, whilst Sodeyama’s hypnotic version of the track offers up a spellbinding five-and-a-half minute journey through pockets of space and serenity.
