cable.percussion (Johnny McDowell) is a Dublin-based electronic music producer specialising in hardware-produced acid electronica. Active since early 2023, he is known for his energetic live performances and his unique style of psychological electronic music.

His music is brimming with playful melodies and otherworldly acid basslines over frenetic and often aggressive beats that defy the listener to figure out its genre. Not afraid to experiment with different styles, his sound is forward-thinking, eclectic and unpredictable, but consistently held together by his signature brain-wiggling acid sounds and pummeling breaks-infused drum patterns.

cable.percussion independently released his debut EP 'C.PERC' in August 2023, shortly after his debut live performance. He has since released the EP, 'Chrysalis' (Jan '24), and his first LP, '303 Mechanics' (Aug '24), with Dublin-based label Aduaine, as well as a 5-track EP called 'XYZ' with Icelandic label Intellitronic Bubble (Sep' 24), and has also recently had singles feature on various artists compilations with Aduaine (Paraben), as well as French label Tripalium Corp (Ketone).

He continues to play live sets regularly around Dublin, and has played with Dublin-based collectives including Dublin Modular, Live&Electric, Dissolve and Áise agus Éire, as well as opening for bands including FM Attack, Shakalak and Robin Blakey, and recently played a set on Dublin Digital Radio (hosted by resident Ecstatic Intervals).

cable.percussion's latest release - 11 mind-melting tracks collectively known as 'Acroplastics' - sees a further refinement in his sound, exploring a multitude of electronic genres and warping them into brain-bending acidified landscapes from outer space, designed to get the listener's brain dancing as much as their body.

Livity Sound welcomes Joe Milli to the fold with an assured EP of crisp club workouts that land between techno's evocative depth and UK funky's offbeat, drum-focused functionality. 

Over the past few years Milli has been establishing his sound across a swathe of radio shows, guest mixes and releases, and he lands on Livity with a timeless take on the label's commitment to stripped back, atmospheric soundsystem music. 

There's variety across the Deep Forest EP, ranging from the balmy bassweight house of the title track to the deep-diving dub pulses and bruk drum science of 'Look Again'. 'Keep That Wire' draws nervous energy from its synth hooks and the taut, angular beat before the rolling Detroit techno pulse of 'Expressions' brings the EP home in punchy, percussion-loaded style. 

In line with past releases from the likes of Bakongo, DJ Polo and Tribal Brothers, Milli's strength lies in his ability to bend the UK funky formula to different styles, all precision-tooled for the club.

Paris-based artist Subsism (Guillaume Arnaud) delivers Drums Don’t Burn, a genre-blurring debut EP landing on Czech label Markham Road Records. The title track, a heavy, emotional centerpiece, gets reimagined here by Warzou (Aurélien Arnaud), whose remix twists the original into a darker, more warped form. A fitting close to the record, and a standout cut from a powerful first release.

Ruis. returns with its fourth digital release, introducing Brussels-based artist SKIMIR, a dedicated crate digger, soundsystem lover and bass music designer from the HNI Soundsystem crew.

With Grabuge EP (JSD004), SKIMIR channels his background in heavy sound system culture into a dark, underground club statement. The EP draws from the raw energy of early dubstep while pushing it into a more contemporary, layered direction. Grabuge is where heavyweight basslines, carefully placed drums and sample-rich textures collide.
