Peter Bailey is a talented producer and makes his debut statement on Transmit. 'Jungle Luv' arrives first with a nasty techno vibe, beautiful effects, all combined with great drum patterns in order to make this simple irresistible. Next on the line is the remix by The Junkies, which is a bit more intense with a nice driving bassline and chunky drum kicks accompany some smooth percussions elements. A solid effort here. The release closes with 'Come Get It' and this track is pure techno material. Heavy dark bassline featuring some subtle atmospheric effects, the result once again is brilliant. A very good release here on Transmit by Peter Bailey, an amazingly talented producer. Watch out, this is simply massive.

After the huge success of the original mix of 'Vision' by Dema, Agile continues and offers a special set of two remixes. First up is Ramiro Lopez. The production begins with absolutely stunning drum patterns featuring a set of techno riffs. The basslines also become absolutely sinister as the track progress, creating a monster! Next on is the remix by The Junkies. The track starts in a nice subdues manner with a full of techno beats. Gritty bassline while twisted effects are taking control makes this production an anthem. Prior to the original, this release is on the same level, simply brilliant. Make no mistake Agile deserves every bit of praise.

Toronto born duo The Junkies return on Transmit with a new EP and their distinct style with a remix from the talented Nathan Barato. Forever is full of twisted synth-works, rough, layered claps and a fat bass roaming around the length of the track. The original version of Got To Do It has that old-school Chicago style vibe in it, looped vocal samples and a distinctive stab that keeps the mind locked into it. Nathan Barato remix also follows the style of the original adding a more playful baseline and great drum-work all over.

The Junkies touch down with the very House-y Just Cant Try, and the rocksteady rhythm section ensures maximum momentum as a rubber-band bassline provides the backdrop for classic chord stabs and persistent hi hats. For our 34th release on Area Remote were happy to welcome our Canadian friends The Junkies and Nathan Barato to the Area Remote family. THE JUNKIES style has continued to evolve over the years under the influence of various genres of electronic music, ranging from deep soulful house to techno and everything in between. Drawing from these has resulted in a sound that has made them a consistently present force in the Toronto club scene for over 10 years as well as play alongside some of the worlds most respected artists including the likes of Steve Lawler. 2009 has been a great year for The Junkies recognising their talents through a string of stellar releases and chart toppers; including the hugely successful D-Mode EP, a collaboration with Rawthentic Music head honcho Carlo Lio and their solo projects Ritmo and Quatro Uno Sei. NATHAN BARATO has been a regular in the Toronto nightclub scene for nearly 15 years, gleaning inspiration from the club sounds and scenes from as far back as early 90's garage. Hes in heavy demand as a DJ in Toronto and since 2009 working hard in the studio with solo releases signed with Breakoutaudio, BWO, Local Music, his own label Roots And Wings plus some awesome collaborations such as this one. It's been a hectic start to 2012 for Canadian duo The Junkies. Recently signed to the Bullit DJ Agency, Vincenzo and Valentino now prepare to make their debut on SCI+TEC. Earning their stripes through 10 years of playing the Toronto circuit, holding residencies at the legendary Guvernment Club and Footwork Bar, the Junkies shared the decks with many of the worlds most respected DJ's and artists. 2009 saw the them reach out through their music and last years releases and remixes for Monique Musique, Rawthentic Music, Mindshake and Area Remote saw the partnership enjoy their most successful year to date. As their own Local Music label goes from strength to strength and nears its fourteenth release, The Junkies kick off their own musical year with "Au Jour Le Jour" for SCI+TEC. This fresh three track selection sees the guys deliver a variety of dark, driving and funky techno in the form of "Tuco," "Au Jour Le Jour" and "Werq This." 2012 is set to be a huge year for The Junkies and SCI+TEC are happy to welcome them on board.

Alex Piccini was born in a small town near Venice, a city strongly influenced by house and techno music thanks to well known clubs such as Go-bang, Movida and Muretto. Clubs that brought this music into Italy for the first time. As Alex grew up listening to this music, he became passionate for the scene; what led him to become a DJ. 

A1_Thunderbird - Funky Tech House at its Finest. Alex definitely knows how to capture a groove with a infectious hook in the background of the mix. To top it off, top quality arrangement with constantly evolving elements act as ear candy the more you listen the more it grows on you.

B1_Something to Say - A Heavier Tech House affair, more sporadic with no real hook, just BEATS and a penetrating baseline for those you like the running bottom effect.

B2_Something to Say (The Junkies Remix)-Big Room Techno all day here!...Perfect the clubs, the darkrooms, the festivals, an all around top track. Simplicity at its finest.
