CHOW TIME: Stories From Life In Colorado Prisons is the podcast series of Inside Wire: Colorado Prison Radio. CHOW TIME episodes are long-form narrative journalism features in which incarcerated audio producers reveal and interrogate life in Colorado's state prison system. The series is characterized by deep, potent questions; surprising dialogue; and rich uses of sound. Experienced as a series, CHOW TIME captures a broad range of complexities, nuances, joys, struggles, and surprises of life in prison in the U.S. 

When Inside Wire producers complete their first CHOW TIME episode, they fulfill the final step of their training journey to earn certification from University of Denver in Sound Production and Audio Storytelling.

Our programs were created by incarcerated media producers for incarcerated listeners. Inside Wire was the first radio station in the world to broadcast 24/7 from inside prisons to the public. Inside Wire was a program of the University of Denver Prison Arts Initiative, in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC).
