Inside Out Records welcomes in the new year thanks to a shrewdly chosen bunch of new faces. On the Fanciful Stories EP, Cumiks, the charismatic duo from Spain, deliver a unique and dreamy series of cuts, the likes of which are inspired by their many sojourns around the world. 

As its title suggests, Fanciful Stories is far from just another EP. On the contrary, it is a primitive experience and one that lives in the subconscious of its creators. This sensationalism is only complete when Stevie R, Ian Mckenzie, Alex Zed and Al Bradley narrate their own version of the tale.

On that note, Stevie R & Ian McKenzie's vision is a more tense interpretation of the original. Funky drums, a strong minimal bassline and a wide variety of analog synthesizers all play their part. Together, it makes for a magnificent composition, and the type of track that'll keep listeners enthralled until the very last.

On Alex Zed's remix, the label owner is very much at his inimitable best, as he whips up an effort that neatly toes the line between dark and trippy. Moving arps and creepy pads abound, with the end result an enigmatic, beautiful groove that's sure to cause a dancefloor sensation. 

It's then Al Bradley's turn to surprises us, which is exactly what he does on his take on Cumiks' ''Picture''. Stuffed full of old-school urban sounds, Chicago chords and disco elements, it's a groove-heightened experiment that'll intrigue even the most ardent of house heads. A majestic listen from the first beat to the last, this is very much an EP worth losing yourself in.

Our next Inside Out Records installment set to release on NYE 2022 is a Bandcamp exclusive project by label bosses Stevie R & Parisinos. “We Are Here” serves two peak time club cuts ready for dancefloor exhilaration. The original features a heavy four on the floor rhythm with radio vocals and strong bass lines. The remix by Israel based Autarkic offers a strong break beat alternative.

After Altamont, the mysterious live band alias of Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos, return to Inside Out Records with a truly collaborative EP, “Elektriki Rembetologia”. Rebetiko briefly can be described as the urban popular song of the Greeks, especially the poorest, from the late 19th century to the 1950s, outlawed and driven underground during the Ottoman Empire. Rebetiko grew out of particular urban circumstances. Often its lyrics reflect the harsher realities of a marginalized subculture's lifestyle. Thus one finds themes such as crime, drink, drugs, poverty, prostitution and violence, but also a multitude of themes of relevance to Greek people of any social stratum: death, eroticism, exile, exoticism, disease, love, marriage, matchmaking, the mother figure, work war.
After Altamont set a psychedelic, theatrical, hypnotic journey throughout the album. They fuse slow hypnotic grooves, analog electronics and traditional Greek musical instruments for their interpretation of the known Mpournovalia and Tha Spasw Koupes, featuring original vocals by the incredibly talented Dunja Botic. The third track Aspra Xwmata is an original song which includes a virtuoso original Greek bouzouki improvised solo and spoken vocals by Anna Maria Harokopou, a very influential music personality in the Athenian Electronic Music Scene. The albums psychedelic journey is strengthened by beautiful remixes from Lamusa II, Steve Pepe, METAMAN (WonTon Records) and Anna Disclaim.

For Inside Out Records, 2015 opened with a Bang. Roland Appel delivered just as we knew he would thanks to 'Zeus', a track that steadily climed the Beatport charts and ended up in the crates of many a discerning DJ and fan. Continuing on with this ascent is Greek DJ/producer, Kosmas. If you're not familiar with his work, then you'll likely be familiar with some of the labels he's repped thus far, with labels such as Akbal Music and Get Physical already falling under his spell. 
With those credentials in mind, Kosmas has been on the radar of InsideOut records for quite some time and we can now finally add him to the illustrious list of artists to have joined us at the label. 

Coming with his debut 4 track EP, Laura, Kosmas features 2 original tracks (Laura / Layke) that deliver a warm, lazy, late-day vibe that carries the essence of the smooth summer sun. The two remixes are from label frequents Stevie R & Ian Mckenzie and Matt Hardinge. Matt’s remix is styled in similar fashion to the original, as it emulates the euphoria and ecstasy associated with a super feel-good tune thanks to its experimental delays and percussion lines. A real floorfiller to keep the night rolling. Stevie R & Ian Mckenzie's interpretation of Laura ties in more with the cold winter evenings found at the turn of the year. The deep drone synth found throughout the tune drives the dark sadistic feeling that will for sure keep the listeners engaged in any late night set. 

The range of sounds found on the Laura EP is sure to keep you wanting more, and everyone here at Inside Out Records is very excited to release this new talent, Kosmas. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Inside Out Records are proud to announce the release of a debut full length album from Vivid, which is due out on September 28th 2015 and is a fine artistic statement. 

Vivid is Hassan Malik, a music obsessive forever and an established producer for the last ten years. He has been supported by the likes of Los Suruba in Ibiza and has released breakout tracks on their label. They hit the charts and announced Vivid to the world. Since then he  has been played by the likes of John Digweed and Ellen Allein and now this debut album shows he is not bound to any one style in particular. 

His debut album, Fool of Infinite & Queen of Fate, draws inspiration from every point on the dance music’s timeline. It is an authentic work with personalised flourishes, one foot in the club and one foot in the lounge. 

Opening with some moody, spaced out ambiance, the album then unfolds through textured tech, a trippy bit of house on the title track and some perfectly absorbing and hypnotic groves on cuts like Damsel Under Stress. 

There is a broad palette of sound on offer here, filed with colour and deeply rooted in real groove and musicality, and for that reason it is a charming listen from start to finish. Tracks vary in tempo and as a listen over all the album is carefully sequenced thus making for a real journey. 

This is a fine debut album from a producer who very much deserves to be known by a wider audience. Now that time has come.

2015 was an amazing year for Inside Out Records. The philosophy of the label of releasing elite sounding electronic music with a storytelling value is no secret among the international scene these days. For the first release of 2016 the label is introducing one of the most significant up and coming producers in Europe, whose music has been played intensively over the last few years in the most notorious dancefloors; we are talking about Nick Devon. 

The first track on the record is Enceladus. In Greek mythology Enceladus was one of the giants, the off spring of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (Sky), and was said to be the cause for earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The fact that the track is named after a giant who claimed war upon the gods is no accident. From the first second the track makes a statement of intimacy. Growling synths, psychedelic strings combined with unworldly haunting textures skilfully sculpt this techno masterpiece. 

Gaussian is to follow. Modulation paranoia of analogue tones accompanied by outer space atmospheres and dramatic keys shape the musical part of this piece. Drums are tight, menacing and always evolving; their nature being so controversial to the dreamy musical parts offers Gaussian its unique character. 

To close the record comes Crescent Moon. Crescent Moon is not a track to enjoy with a glass of wine and dream; it’s a track to dance to until your body wont move, in a dark warehouse. Synths forger their manners and reveal their wild side. They scream, shout and rebel, forcefully demanding of you to join them in their unsafe trip. 

Enceladus is a record of high aesthetic and eccentricity, setting the mood for what to expect from Inside Out Records in 2016.

For the second release of 2016 Inside Out Records introduces Max Belobrov to the label family. Max is no stranger to the genre’s lovers, with his releases always hitting the underground spot. “Flava” is no exception; a two-track techno delicacy, which will flourish any respected dancefloor.

The journey begins with the records homonymous track “Flava”. A disco flavored techno anthem that draws the listener in from the very beginning. Some would agree that there is a bit of Giorgio Moroder in those evolving arps; just enough old school disco flavor to give this piece a notch of nostalgia. “Flava” succeeds to marry the old world with the new and the outcome is truly extraordinary. 

On the B-side we find “Critical”. While maintaining the philosophy of “Flava”, “Critical” moves away from the pick time feel and takes us to a dark warehouse. Instruments discover their trippy side and they seem more than comfortable. Trippy textures with a chaotic feel to them move hand to hand with menacing, ever-evolving synth lines and a steady drum groove that carries the enigmatically beautiful character of the track. “Critical” promises to take both your mind and body to a journey and it doesn’t disappoint.

After Altamont release their debut album on Inside Out Records. Made up of Stavros Potamitis and Towdie Kamp, After Altamont’s music blends electronic production with live instrumentation, often throwing in unusual ethnic instruments, and combines elements of psychedelic rock, soulful dub, and dark-tinged dance music. 

The LP, An Animal Orchestra, is composed of seven tracks of atmospherically shifting sounds and sonic intrigue.‘ Scoring for Fools’ is a slow dub-heavy opener uplifted by the strings of a traditional Greek Tzouras. ‘K-Band’ sees Shawni’s sultry vocal underpinned by a variety of textures, crashes and bleeps before a bassline rumbles into view. The duo’s trippy drones and vocal on ‘Five Weeks In A Balloon’ is a nod to their trip-hop influences, while ‘Lost Little Girl’ is a gorgeously ethereal, stripped-back, acoustic number. After Altamont demonstrate their range when the beautiful soundscape of ‘ Yellow Circus’ is followed by the dark decent into the pulsating inferno of ‘Dante’. The album closes with a ten-minute exploration on ‘Three Men Down (And a Beautiful Sunset)’; beginning with a spaced out electric riff before morphing into a heady 4/4 beat.

An Animal Orchestra is set to be one of the most interesting records of the year, as After Altamont bring together a diverse mix of influences and sounds that sit happily together under one roof.

For their first release of 2019, London underground imprint Inside Out Records welcomes the mysterious Quetz:al to their family. The label, as per usual, stays true to its values of supporting new talent, musical innovation and constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with sound.

Born in Mexico and currently residing in London, Quetz:al is a classically trained musician and an experienced sound designer. In his piece "Timbal" the producer demonstrates how much you can do using only very little. Employing just a very short sample which he extracted from a documentary, Quetz:al employs a variety of creative production techniques to sculpt all the sounds evident in his composition.

In his own words "Using only one 2-bar loop, the track created itself as I mangled, maimed and destroyed the original audio. Techniques that were used were transposition, heavy EQ use, audio stretching, over-compression, re-sampling, exaggerated use of delays."

Rising star Echonomist follows his debut EP release on Innervisions with an underground, peak time re-creation of “Irina”, with unforgiving percussions and exhilarating arps. Stevie R & Parisinos explore slower, hypnotic rhythms and acid elements to accompany the transcendental story telling by Lena Platonos. Breakin' moves experiments with repetition and minimalism for his experimental interpretation of Battle of Perugia. Finally, Athens Computer Underground completes this release with a raw acid re-invention of Antigone's Stasimon.
