Dark Matters, the eclectic imprint founded by Amirali is proud to announce its third release, Paul Valentin 'Inner Harm’ due for release late January 2016 on vinyl and mid February on digital. Growing up in a small village in southern Germany, Valentin was influenced by his musical family. Studying classical guitar himself, he combines acoustic, electronic and field recordings in his music creating cinematic compositions. Valentin’s music feels intensely personal, he cites coincidence as playing a major part in his process, happening upon magical moments in his self-recorded audio data which develop into broader features of the tracks.

‘Inner Harm’ is made up of three original tracks and a remix courtesy of Locked Groove. Inner Harm feat. Search Yiu on vocals is perhaps the most aurally textured on the EP, combining crunching percussion the track builds slowly into a swelling composition. Locked Groove’s remix contains the same swell, looping the vocal and introducing a punching kick drum turning ‘Inner Harm’ into a hypnotic and intense techno
cut.

'Nested Circles’ composition is based around the guitar, Valentin layers sounds, building the track into a sweeping crescendo before settling into an even rhythm.

‘Zugunruhe’ on the other hand, the first track that caught Amirali’s attention, uses piano as its main component. It is the most melancholic on the EP shifting into a broken beat, rich with field recordings and drawn out notes.

Both tracks maintain the use of percussion that enhances the depth of the emotionally charged and complex EP.

Maintaining the intelligent output on the label, 'Inner Harm' sits perfectly amongst the previous two releases.

Label boss Gabriel I teams up with label favourite Jamin Hernandez for another collaboration for this fine Mexican imprint. This time some excellent vocals from the talented Sutja Gutierrez, who has appeared on My Favorite Robot, Sincopat, Suruba, Suara, Get Physical. So those three combined, and with a hot remix package to boot, well we are sure this will make a lot of people sit up and take notice.

So lets start with the original of 'Wunderlust', A swaggery cool deep gem, with a mystical vocal, just one of those tracks that really sets the mood. The energy levels increase as the bass changes and we seem to shift up a gear or two, while gated pads rise and fall to add tension. this really is a very tasty track.

Sasse is first up on remix duties and creates a warm deep groove, subtle and a little haunting and caressed with the vocal. This is hot. A timeless cool feel that oozes of class.

Sasse's dub is here too for those that prefer it vocal free - both work a treat!

Jimmy van M is next and keeps the vibe deeper, but with occasional big bass hits and then the dreamy warm drop. A sophisticated gem of a rework from Jimmy.

Taking the energy levels up a notch, we have the Mattia Pompeo remix, solid stuff full of drive and one for the peak time sets.

A hot package.. the only dilemma is which one to play?

The return of Michael Klein was imminent. Considering the magnitude of his last offering, the „Drawing EP“, it was only a matter of time before he returned with another stellar parcel of forward thinking dance floor bombshells. With his latest contribution ‚Metals EP’, Michael presents four stunning numbers displaying not only his trademark sound, but his evolution and range as a highly promising new artist.
The expedition kicks off with „Silver“ and with it a lush presentation of the perfect balance between thrust and elation. While a persistent rush of momentum keeps the pace, slow yet infectious rises and vast ethereal cries of spacious flickers set the stage for a cosmic ride reminiscent of indigenous settings with boundless, star lit skies.
Following suit on the A side sees Michael return to his approach heard on his last EP. Somewhere between the traditional fundamentals and the future stylings of the most distinguished techno lies „Opaque“. With incredible force and exuberance, Klein delivers off kilter grooves that create a contagious, sweat laden exhilaration, nothing short of pure warehouse bliss.
Kicking off the B side is „Outer Shell“ and it is by far the most emotional and cosmic of all the tunes. Opulent melodics construct beams of radiant light found only in the outer reaches of deep space as flashes of meteoric rises and low bursts of impetus propel the auditor into a never-ending journey into a place where time and space cease to exist.
Wrapping things up is a slow burner entitled „Dura 2 feat. aGhost“. A tune that can be played fast or at the slower original speed, it's a beautiful demonstration of resistance and inflection. As chants of a mysterious female fill the room, shimmers of lavish chimes circle slowly to secure an impassioned sentiment of sorrow, excitement and desire.
To compliment the beauty of 'Dura 2' we've enrolled the services of Roman Lindau to put his spin on the original. With just a few elements Lindau expertly creates a monster of a dance floor stormer. As the bassline continually grows and shrinks with a simple but highly effective four to the floor groove, the excitement swells as short stabs of vocals entice the crowd to peaking trepidation.
