Rebellion is music for the early hours and Israeli Magit Cacoon brings five original tracks to the label, with her enchanting ‘Subterranean Fiction EP’.

Tel Aviv’s Magit Cacoon is both DJ and producer. Currently residing in Berlin, she has been producing music with fellow artist Oliver Deutschmann for over five years. After meeting Damian Lazarus on her home ground, he soon signed the EP and welcomed her to Rebellion. Japanese DJ, composer, producer and vocalist Hideyo Blackmoon features in the opening track ‘Journey to Venus’ and sets the tone for an ethereal and otherworldly EP. ‘Subterranean Fiction’ is a “voyage through a complex underground universe, where one has the opportunity to immerse himself omnisciently in the sounds and vibrations,” says Magit Cacoon of the material.

Celebrated for her ability to discover new talent, Magit became Berlin’s Sweat Lodge Radio resident and founder of the label Girl Scout in 2011. Her remix for the UK act Porcupine Tree and releases on Upon.You Records strengthened her position within the dance scene. Displaying how versatile she is, Magit is currently working on the official remix for infamous rock musician Steven Wilson.

We got with the TAB cofounders to hear all about how they’ve upped the ante for their label’s ‘Selections’ series.

Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin. Sound of The Underground is the first EP from Space Yacht co-founder, LondonBridge. To give the EP some context, LB was sidelined for six months with a broken knee as a result of a motorcycle accident. In that time, he put all his energy in to recovery and producing music. The EP is made for the dance floor mixing current tech house styles with classic house grooves. Fans of Dirtybird and Bunny Tiger will defiantly vibe to the Sound Of The Underground EP
