Sergio Fernandez has turned in a sweat-inducing weapon sure to wipe floors clean all season long with “Uncharted.” The Spanish export reminds us why he’s a hot commodity in clubland with his offering, which bolsters a low-slung rhythm accented with persistent, blocky percs, riding hats, and a fatty bassline for those moments you want to run up the walls.

Track of the Day: Sergio Fernandez “Uncharted”

Desert Hearts Records has added another invariably impressive name to their roster with Mr Jefferson. He arrives with four of the buffest bits we’ve heard in a hot minute, all wrangled together on the forthcoming 'Ghetto Funk' EP. On the titular cut, the Spanish tech house conquistador cuts into some serious peak-time vibes. Propped up against reverent vocal samples, the tune has energy for days with a sashaying rhythmic structure that borrows its character from slithering lines and sporadic bleeps for good measure.

The big man is back! Stefano Noferini, the man behind the Deeperfect brand, is stepping up to the plate for his first release of 2018. On this EP he is joined by the Florentine newcomer duo, Habits. Together the three collaborators deliver a two track EP of the finest quality club weapons. 
‘Timisoara’ starts off in a manner that is instantly recognisable as a tough cut of Deeperfect’s signature stripped-back tech house. A solid beat is punctuated with sprinkles of tribal percussion and underpinned by a pulsing sub line. Eerie pads and ethnic choirs bring the drama up with quick intensity and create an enveloping atmosphere that brings the track to life. Sweeping FX and an energetic rides help to create intense sections of energy, which are contrasted by moments of serenely deep vibes.
The second and final track, ‘Papizh’, opens with a tight pushing beat that is joined by a rising bass riff that gives a definition to the groove and flow to the composition. Forest soundscapes and swells of synthesis wash across the speakers and offer a level of depth and mystery which helps the energy of the track to rise exponentially. Then, unexpectedly yet with masterful delivery, comes the introduction of an operatic vocal, which pays homage to the rich cultural history of the city of Florence where the three artists reside. 
The ‘Timisoara EP’ is both very unique and exceptionally functional and delivers a extremely original take on modern club music. A must have EP for a huge range of DJ’s and music fans alike.
