Stretching out towards the Blue Mountains in the west of bustling Sydney, George Alhabel creates an "Omega Station". A seismic bass groove reverberates across plateau escarpments as heavy beat anchors the rhythmic scaffold. White-noise effects crash like waves onto the rocks below, as smooth pads and glistening synths create a momentary stillness before a powerful denouement extends over the sonic horizon. The latest offering from Madloch's Sound Avenue welcomes Matias Vila back to the label for a new single. Having first appeared on the Belgian imprint in 2012, the Argentinean producer has grown into one of the label's core artists. Matias has developed a transcendent sound which is all his own, one where organic qualities marry groovy basslines and psychedelic design in a highly stylized fashion. Having last appeared on Sound Avenue with the beloved ‘Ahora', a track which highlighted the label's 2018 ‘Summer Sampler' and eventually went on to receive a remix from Hermanez & Eran Aviner in 2019. Played for months by world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo, the remix enjoyed an extended stay in Beatport's Top 10 and by year's sat atop the label's best-selling tracks. Now presenting his first new music in over three years, Matias makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with ‘Union Eterna', alongside remixes from Sebastian Sellares and Weird Sounding Dude.

As a producer beloved by both his fans and contemporaries, Matias has reached new levels with ‘Union Etera'. From its dusty, organic beginnings come deep and charming qualities. Low slung, key changing basslines provide the anchor for layers of exotic percussion and fuzzy overlays to work their magic. Transcendent emotions emanate from this perfect marriage, eventually setting the stage for a gorgeous three-minute interlude. Exquisitely produced, the centrepiece moves through sentimental phrasing and effervescent effects, melting down to a quiet calm and gently building back up as layers of percussion create a bridge into an impassioned finale. Additionally, Matias has provided a Dub version which carries the same organic qualities but with a greater emphasis on rhythm and groove, with hints of the lead teased across the nine-minute journey.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of ‘Union Eterna' is Sebastian Sellares. Also known under his previous moniker Monje, Sebastian hails from one of Argentina's most talent rich regions in Cordoba. Since adopting his given name for his musical endeavours in 2018, Sebastian has gone on to showcase his music via UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Antrim's Or Two Strangers, GMJ & Matter's meanwhile and US powerhouse Proton Music. Now adding Sound Avenue to his resume, Sebastian debuts on the label with a stunning rendition of ‘Union Eterna'. 

Also making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Union Eterna' is Weird Sounding Dude. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist has grown into one of his country's most beloved progressive house producers. As a firm favourite of the genre's most highly regarded tastemakers, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and UK behemoth Anjunadeep. Also notching appearances on Sound Avenue affiliates 3rd Avenue and Future Avenue, Weird Sounding Dude continues what has been an inspired 2021 with a thrilling take on ‘Union Eterna'. It rounds out a welcome return to Sound Avenue for Matias Vila, who after a three year hiatus has delivered his most inspired creation to date.

'Making their Plaisirs Sonores Records debut are production duo, Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat, with an incredible three track EP called Lonely Space. The Colombian pair have collaborated for quite some time signing tracks to number of labels like Replug and The Soundgarden.

Opening with a cosmic weapon, 'Lonely Space' develops into an epic deep progressive journey filled with beautiful synth melody, female vocal, fx and hypnotic pads. Elegant and hypnotic from the first bar to the last. Next up, 'Orbital' digs deep too. Opening with more low end grunt, melodic arps float lift the mood midway before deep warm pads float into earshot. Musically rich and utterly satisfying. Finally, Alex O'Rion concludes the EP with an exquisite remix of 'Lonely Space'. Stronger and more intense, sonic fx and melodic patterns are balanced against the percussive bedrock leaving ample room for the main motifs to grow creating a sense of controlled peril.  '

Selador boss Dave Seaman and widely respected Buenos Aires electronic music figure DJ Paul first met over 20 years ago when Dave was recording his first Global Underground compilation in the city and have remained friends ever since.

More recently, the two bonded further over their shared passion for football when legendary Argentinian football coach Marcelo Bielsa took over at Dave’s beloved Leeds United. It was a development that became a regular topic of conversation, their mutual admiration culminating in them deciding to collaborate on a track in honour of Bielsa’s genius after he achieved promotion with Leeds back to the English Premier League.

Named partly after Bielsa’s ‘crazy one’ nickname and also after his ‘beautiful’ brand of football, the result was ‘Loco Hermoso’, a perfectly executed slice of sun kissed electronic goodness befitting of its inspirational source.

And the Argentinian connection doesn’t stop there either. Stepping up on remix duties, we welcome the one and only Hernan Cattaneo who teams up blossoming new talent Mariano Mellino for one interpretation whilst another Argentinian duo, label faves Interaxxis complete a formidable line up.
