This is a story of two people on a balcony
Who once had a love affair, without any clarity
She sits there, with her pride and her pain
And he sits there telling himself that he’s right yet again

This is a story about cause and effect
About how a love can turn to loveless
And how those memories and photographs no longer mean a thing
But I’m not one of those people who say I’d never change anything


Once upon a time, in a far away land
There were about 3 weeks that might as well have been heaven
Where every little feeling seemed to fall into place
And he would chase that there feeling for the rest of his days

So as the years moved on the sun’s continued to set
And every now and then they would reconnect.
With the part of his heart that he would still call her’s

He had affected her, more than he knew
And she hated him for things, she could not undo

5 years is a long time for these young hearts
That damaged each other, as they tore apart

The Balcony Tale

Written across the pond by the Tenderfoot and English producer/songwriter Julian Emery (Nothing But Thieves). The band traveled from hometown Sydney to Abbey Road Studios in London to orchestrate and arrange the track, along with their debut album 'To Be Young', before returned to Sydney to mix with local producer Ryan Miller.

Lead track 'The Balance' is hauntingly catchy; led by a deep groove, ambient arrangement and Vella's lilting falsetto. 'The Balance' takes the listener deep into a new world; One that simmers from the past through to the present. Reflective in nature, present in tense. A narrative that takes you back to the streets. Streets littered with ambience, tension, anticipation and unresolve. 

Orchestrated by Tenderfoot themselves, featuring the English Session Orchestra, and recorded in Abbey Road's world famous Studio 3.  The Balance brings to the game cinematic qualities and a new sound, ahead of the release of their debut album.

The InsurGents take decades of experience across diverse, contrasting genre and distill it into a unique brand of electro pop rock. Taking from every influence imaginable, the powerhouse duo have produced an all-killer no-filler album of classic tunes, for the head, the heart, the feet, and for other places. Containing epic drops, air-guitar inducing guitar work, analogue tape machines, heaving drum machines, stratospheric soundscapes, spoken word gems, transcendent lyrics, butt-shaking basslines, current socio political references, and space age themes; this album contains a swagger and confidence that belies its debut status. Reminiscent of lush album productions of the 1980s, this full-frequency sonic expression is best enjoyed on your highest resolution playback machine at plentiful volume. The InsurGents have fused a unique art-pop genre, by feeding their ever stoked cauldron with explosive musical ideas.  A triumphant and assured debut release.
