Recently an old friend invited Instagon to be part of a secret group on Facehook called "The Great Cover Challenge" .. where a random band is chosen and the participants are GIVEN a song by that band to cover.. no choosing.. no trading.. no buts. ..  and so this time around the band chosen was AIR SUPPLY..  which is really horrible when you stop to think that Air Supply have enough music to generate songs for a LOT of bands to cover.. but yes, they do..  and so Instagon was given this obscure, but epic song, called "Setting the Scene".. and well after listening to it a dozen times i wrote the person in charge and told them we were probably not gonna participate....but as the deadline for the tracks grew closer..i got an idea of just taking the lyrics and laying them over an already existing Instagon track.. rather than re-arrange the music for a live band.. and so behold.. the cover of Setting The Scene by Air Supply.. as done by Instagon.. .. The Monkey & The Lobster mix.. drums by Stephen A. Elliot, keys by T.Firecracker Johnson, bass & vocals by Lob.   Instagon session 653.   Vocals recorded at Room in Exile, quiely, late at night so not to wake my roommates... mastering done with adobe audition.

we present this Instagon track from 1993.   This song was recorded on a 4 track cassette machine in Lob's living room in Huntington Beach, CA (the Apt. behind Vinyl Solution) sometime in May of 1993 
It features LOB playing percussion, harmonica and doing the vocals and GEORGE MALEK on the banjo & bass.
