A Remix of an Atari YM2149F Chiptune by !Cube.

I kept the remix close to the original melody and chord progression, because that's what the song is about.

For anyone interested in the production side of the song:

Produced and mixed 100% in Propellerhead aka ReasonStudio Reason.
Main SID/synth lead and bass lines are created with the Thor synthesizer.

Toni aka !Cube kindly provided me with the original and unzipped SND file so I could load it into the STEEM emulated instance of the MaxYMiser tracker.

From there, I meticulously transferred note for note into the Reason sequencer.
The challenge was to get the portamento/legato and vibrato right in the lead melody.

Back in 1997 I wrote this half-way thing called "Epic of the 90s" which I had intended for The Gathering (Norway's famous data party). However, I never got around to complete it, and just recently found the original files on my Roland XP-60. So there was only one thing to do: Rework it and make it into something suitable for 2018. 

The song is a little homage to all the great artists in the demo groups and crews who made these parties what they were and are today.

This song started out as a little test of the Yamaha FS1R and Roland MKS-70 and 80, but quickly grew into a fullblown song. Initially I tried to keep it dark and more mysterious, but the funky brass parts of the MKS-80 and Ensoniq Fizmo took over. As did the sultry Prophet lead from the KORG Wavestation A/D and the rest just came crashing down from West Coast/LA-Fusion land... couldn't help it! ^_^

Dark Star

The name "Instant Remedy" is probably most well known among the fans of the Amiga and C64/SID-remixing scene. The styles range from 80's synthesizer era to chiptunes to EDM/house.
