Man With No Shadow – a shady name for a respectable DJ. Gaining notoriety as co-founder and resident of the infamous GZG raves, he is now one of Holland’s most wanted techno jocks. Representing the underground with a stern smile towards the mainstream, he’s winning over crowds across the Netherlands and beyond. A matter of timing or just a captivating choice of records? Who’s to say. Somehow the Man never fails to supply magical moments.

Always seeking new challenges, he has moved on from GZG in order to develop a new concept - Karousel. This new concept has already started as a club night and can be defined as a musical based platform to showcase artists that uniquely inspire underground culture. This two-headed monster represents the sound that has come to define Man With No Shadow’s dj-sets: a graceful approach to dance floor rocking.

And now he brings his pumpin’ beats and infectious melodies to Intacto Records with this massive ‘Sinus EP.’ Starting with title track ‘Sinus’, a fast beat that gets you going is infused with sassy strings of melody, creating ultimate tech house bliss. Followed by ‘Haunted’, a track full of deliciously deep and dark samples mixed superbly with crisp metallic drum rolls, the stage is set for a hauntingly beautiful EP that will rock your world.

With 'Sinus' on the A-side as a solid tech-house groover, the B-side take's it to another direction. Inspired by the UK bass movement, 'Haunted' combines big bass sounds with techy grooves and drum rolls. The Sinus 'EP' presents a fresh view on techno while paying homage to the UK scene.

London based DJ and producer Mark Broom makes his next appearance on Posthuman’s Balkan Vinyl imprint by supplying a driving and hypnotic acid cut to the ‘Mutant City Acid Vol. 4’ compilation.

With decades of experience releasing on labels like Saved, 20:20 Vision, Material Series and Edit Select Records, Mark Broom’s catalogue is well stacked with diverse material. That said, his brand of acid stands out in the industry and is in high demand, which makes the latest track on Balkan Vinyl that much more satisfying.

‘Connection’ showcases a droning motif with humming atmospherics at the core of steady acid tones and booming bass. The track builds into piercing tension before a deep release making for a captivating dancefloor bomb.

‘Mutant City Acid Vol. 4’ is set fro release end of July and also includes tracks by Drvg Cvltvre, Nehuen and Han Do Jin (aka Warlock).

Premiere: Mark Broom 'Connection'

The Japanese DJ Sodeyama (@arparecords) joins the Parisian @Quartz-Rec's roster with "I Wanna Dance" EP. The four-tracker features drifting elements and hypnotic, repetitive patterns, such in Monument's premiere track TEST PTTRN 005.

The release is out on vinyl format on December 3rd, and in digital format on December 19th.

Since its launch in 2015, Parabel has established itself as one of the main Swedish techno imprint with very well received EPs by local artists Joel Mull, Patrick Siech, Nima Khak, The Persuader, Petter B or Patrik Skoog.

Parabel steps up with Joel Mull’s fourth LP ‘Arrow Of Time’, his first album in eight years and the first LP to be released on the label.

If you’ve listened to techno in the past twenty years, Joel Mull won’t need any introduction, with three previous LPs released on prestigious labels Inside, Harthouse and Truesoul, and regular EPs appearing on Drumcode, Cocoon, Mary Go Wild or Kanzlermant to name a few.

This new album is influenced by traveling, time and the future’s point of direction. It is melancholic, cinematic, with the soul of techno at its heart. Here is the concept hiding behind it in the artist’s own words:

”We all have moments when we think about time, I do, especially when I travel. There is a certain loose feeling when I write music and sketch on ideas while I’m in a moving object that is blasting throughout space, such as a plane or a train.

These moments are more intense for me than, for example, when I’m working on ideas in the studio. The studio is amazing but it can also be too structured. When I look out of a window and have a moving canvas in front, it directly adds emotion and easily inspires me.

‘Arrow Of Time’ is the inspiration to this album’s title. It is both the time capsule that we all travel in and the journey that you do every time you listen to music.

Most of the ideas behind the tracks have then been recorded in my home studio adding a few instruments to the mix such as the Roland sh101, Lyra 8 the Roland tr8 and through the Elektron Analog Heat to get it to glow a bit more.Then processing it on my laptop with plugins from UAD, Softube, Soundtoys and with my favorite software Ableton.

The album could not sound complete and get released to the outside world without the help of my favorite mastering engineer Walter Coelho.”

9. Joel Mull - Ahead of the past

Sawlin's debut EP on Delsin off shoot Ann Aimee went down so well it only made sense to have him craft another. 'Eviment' is that EP, made up of three more deep and subterranean techno cuts that play with plenty of textures.

Title track 'Eviment' is a tortured and paranoid offering that has a nagging vocal stretched out over splashy claps and a foreboding bottom end thud. It's vast and dark, spare and haunting where 'Kretze' is a bigger and bolder track. The analogue percussion and serrated lines all sound old and aged as they mark out a scraping, dystopian vision of a world well away from here.

'Sour Tear' has a more syncopated, techno-funk groove but is still padded out with plenty of dubby undercurrents. Sawlin's percussion sounds are wholly non standard, from clanking metal to twanging strings, everything sounds like a real world sound, which makes his music as arresting as anyone's, despite being made firmly for the techno backroom.

@markussuckut is a well known producer in the techno world, whose releases have found a home on such respected labels as Rekids, Odd Even, Hypercolour or Edit Select to name just a few. Suckut is also the founder of the SCKT imprint. The Düsseldorf producer has been a part of the @made-of-concrete family for some time now and the pair up between the two on 'Voices In My Head' feels like an ideal match. The title track 'Voices In My Head' may give off a tranquil feel but pay close attention and you’ll hear the psychosis bubbling below the surface. The synth scribbles that underpin the track would get the best of a sane mind in the right setting. '8' follows. It’s a smart, profound cut designed to raise the pressure on the dancefloor. On the flip, 'Drift' comes to life with fantastic mind-bending sweeps. Label bosses Rebar close the EP off on a quasi devotional touch with their rework of 'Voices In My Head'. The pair stays in the deep end with sublime synths and a stripped back rhythmic architecture. It’s a perfect counterpoint to Suckut’s original.
