Pheno is DJ from Atlanta, the United States. With a diverse and evolving musical background, he began his career specializing in techstep Drum’n’Bass, performing extensively throughout the country and sharing stages with prominent artists such as Hive, Bad Company, Black Sun Empire, Mayhem, Rob F and Impulse. Following a break, Pheno returned to the electronic music with a renewed focus on minimal music, specifically on dark minimal and rominimal. He has since cultivated an extensive and meticulously curated collection, emphasizing rare and deep minimal tracks. Pheno is actively engaged in the international minimal music community, with aspirations to explore the scene and connect with fellow artists in regions including Romania, Peru, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Ukraine and Russia. He currently produces podcasts for esteemed labels such as fratii.ro, notyourtype and Degravita:tion.

Every artist hits a point where polish starts to feel like a cage. In Constant Evolution is Madd Rod’s way of breaking out.

His third studio album follows Sad Behaviour (Discotexas, 2023), a record that marked his transition toward something rougher, freer, and more emotionally charged. This time, Madd Rod takes that instinct to its logical conclusion: imperfection and rawness not as failure, but as a way to keep it real.

Across thirteen tracks, In Constant Evolution drifts between EBM, Electro, Indie Dance, and Krautrock with unfiltered emotion. The warmth of analog gear, the hum of room noise, and the occasional slip of timing are all left in as part of the texture: a quiet protest against overproduction packaged as an album that sounds lived-in.

As founder of Inner Shah Recordings, Madd Rod isn’t chasing perfection. He’s documenting the process of becoming. In an industry that sells the illusion of resolution, In Constant Evolution is a reminder that the cracks are where the light gets in.
