Roku continues the fall season by welcoming Sebastian Haas and Ignacio Corazza to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from London, Sebastian Haas has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade. On the strength of early projects for Superordinate Music & RKP the London resident would enjoy a slow and steady rise moving forward, adding Beat Boutique, Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers and Univack to his resume, along with support from world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo. Meanwhile, hailing from Argentina, Ignacio Corazza has enjoyed similar success since emerging in 2020 with releases on Future Avenue, and RYNTH. Continuing to perfect his craft across the next five calendar years, the Buenos Aires resident would earn support from Hernan Cattaneo, while also adding projects for Electronic Groove Records, Or Two Strangers, RKP and Sound Avenue to his resume. Having previously recorded joint efforts for Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers and Transensations, Sebastian and Ignacio combine their extensive forces once again, making their roku debut with a three-track showcase Limitless EP.

The Yellowheads are back, once again taking control of the situation and dropping another hot number on their home turf. Dema kicks things off with his own interpretation, letting the focus shift to the commanding bassline, while keeping the musical elements of the original intact. The original mix is up next, advancing in style with mighty low frequencies and cavernous effects, while streamlined synths go hand-in-hand with the subliminal rhythm section. Tomy Declerque finishes up with his own rendition, going for a more looped-out approach, combining classic chord action with spacey electronics and trippy edits.

It’s time, once again, to get into the MOOD. Our driver for the label’s latest shady soiree is the boss herself: Nicole Moudaber.

Currently cruising on the trip of her life (literally – she’s just passed her race driver test), Nicole is wrapping up 2015 at unfathomable speeds right now. Fresh from her legendary ‘Breed’ collaborations with Skin and remixing Pan Pot, Scuba and recently Black Asteroid all within the last three months, Nicole unleashes her first solo triple-tracker in a long time…

‘Silent Sigh’ commences the adventure with an unhurried build as each bar sees a new space age texture wrapping around her stoic kicks. Gradually the elements disappear until all you can see, feel and hear is black. Stark designs twist through the ether from left to right then boom: an even darker, sub-laden kick pressure ignites from nowhere. Trust us, this will do more than make your dancefloor sigh…

We proceed with intimacy as Nicole persuades us to ‘Move A Little Closer’. The beats underpin her whispers and do well to magnetise, but it’s the gradual ice blast pads that really allure. Building and building with ageless progression, the big pay-off comes with one of the most delicious, almost cosmic, breakdowns Nicole has ever crafted.

MOOD now fully established, ‘Own’ has the honour of closing the show. Relentless kicks and a scratchy snare paint the backdrop for bold splashes of colour as eastern vocals ghost through the spectrum weaving mystically around Nicole’s signature insistent percussive dynamics, escalating into shamanic oblivion.

Our Yellowhead leaders return to base once more, having created another ferocious beast, which in turn gets manipulated by villains Duspeeka and Mark Reeves! 'Creature' sets a hypnotic mood with cyclic synths and clanging mettalic riffs, next to neatly placed effects that provide enough momentum for the solid drums to keep everything firmly in place, while otherwordly passes seep in and out of the cracks! Mark Reeves' rendition is a more  straight ahead gritty and jacking techno workout, featuring persistant stabs and a steady sub bass that provide the juicy low-end, in his warped version of the original, Dubspeeka takes a more cavernous approach, adding a bouncier rhythm section, while focusing on pulsating sonar bleeps, followed by a heavy drop!
